Comments (20)Missylin, Moonlit Masquerade should do very well in Florida. It was hybridized there. It won the Stout Medal (the top award for daylilies) and does well in all parts of the country. The dark eye does not fade in full sun. It has more buds if it gets at least 6 hours of sun a day. I have a clump in full sun (8 hours) and a clump in part shade (5 hours of sun). Both bloom and multiply well. You should have foliage on it year-round. I always have some foliage on the clumps here in Tennessee, but the fans shrink during the coldest months of January and February. Then in March the foliage plumps up again. Comments (26)as child I grew up in Cuba in an area near the coast , lots of threes in our back yard, I had so many of this lizards along with others, I can't claim is from Cuba, but for sure I have yet to see one in Florida, I would suggest, go to a Cuban website, under "Flora Cubana" it would tell you about of the species that are from there. Cuba does have many diferent species of animal, that are only found there, like the cuban cocodrile, the smallest bird, Zun Zun like a huminbird, smallest frog, and more. One of my favoritye videos on enviroment is from PBS library "Cuba, eden by accident" it is very stonning what our horrible enemy (according to some) is doing way better than us, and lots of other countries to protect the enviroment, air , water, plants and animals...See More'Five Yuan'
Comments (9)I'm pretty excited about this one. We got a second 'Alice Hamilton' in April, and I'm thinking that AH and 5Y might be good neighbors. I need to find out how large 5Y is likely to become, though. Cori Ann -- I think what you're seeing is the stigma. That's red, but the stamens appear (to me) to be yellow. I really like that effect. Virginia -- I do see the resemblance. Another thing I see is the color change, which reminds me of 'Archduke Charles' -- that's one of the reasons I wanted this, because I have a Found rose -- "Orange Smith" which seems to me to sit somewhere between 'Old Blush' and 'Archduke Charles' in petallage and form. "Orange Smith" :...See Moreportlandmysteryrose
