My croton doesn't have the foliage it did as last winter

debodun
last year

Comparative photos of my croton from last winter to this. Last year it had lush foliage and even made recemes. This winter is is leggy and only has tufts of leaves on the stem ends. I am in a different house this year and during this past summer I had the croton out on the back deck where it had bright sunlight most of the afternoon. I think it got sunburned and started to drop many leaves. When I brought it in for the winter, it lost what leaves were remaining except what is there now. Is there anything I can do to to help it get more leaves?

BTW - My Spathiphyllum got sunburned also and almost lost all its leaves, but has recovered nicely over the winter indoors.
