Paint Colors - Coastal Home

Renovation and addition on Cape Cod. Getting ready for board and plaster.

Design overview:

Open area includes foyer, DR, Kitchen, Breakfast Nook and Family Room ...stairway to 2nd floor partially visible. Suken livingroom at other end of home. Cabinets will be Decorator's White w Bachelor Blue island. Floating shelves and wood counters on coffee and wine bars will be stained to match hardwood floors - Tisbury by Sawyer Mason. Quartz counters are Verdana Marbella, a creamy white quartz with hints of taupe. White subway tile splash with shiplap at wine bar wall. Woven pendant over nook table and hammered metals lights over island. Have wainscotting and a local nautical chart wallpaper for the transition area between DR and kitchen - on that stair wall facing the front door. There is brick flooring at the front entry.

Need advice on paint. Do I paint the trim (crown, base and windows/doors) the same color as cabinets - Decorator's White? Or White Dove? I want to use the same trim color everywhere in the home. Thinking of using trim color on built-ins and shiplap too.

What about the walls in this large open area? One color? Prefer to keep this neutral. Have lots of windows and natural light with south, west and east exposures. No shortage of light. Furnishings will be sand tones and blues. Beachy but not sweet pastel colors.

Do pros think it's best to limit colors? Should LR be another color? Or best to keep this entire section of open area on 1st floor ONE color? Looking at Metropolitan, Nimbus, Balboa Mist, Seapearl and Cotton Balls for walls. Suggestions?

Would appreciate thoughts from the community. Kitchen design and first floor layout pictured here. Disregard the notes - this is for layout only.

The house is sided with lighthouse gray dipped cedar shingles. Would be grateful for thoughts on exterior trim and door colors for this home. Leaning toward something in the green family like Sweet Basil or Cedar Path.

Thanks for looking!
