Thank you for the suggestions everyone-- this is my first time posting on this site. I appreciate the feedback. I didn't post the room because we currently live in an apartment and we don't plan to be here much longer, but I can definitely repost when I get home if that will help! As for the 60% rule suggestion, I am a total newbie and I truly do not know what would look best. Gray might be too sterile, white might be too clinical, and red may be too bold. There is a sage green in the rug that I think is pretty, but obviously none of my other furniture is that color. I feel like we have bungled this badly already.

I have been trying to develop a accurate scale drawing, but I need more info. It’s clear, the scale of the sectional is too large for the space. It’s a common mistake. We need at least 3’ around rooms for walkways. So can you exchange sectional or do we have to work with it. Have you considered moving the dining set to along the stairway area and set up a reading/seating area behind the sectional with a couple blue chairs to take in view and utilize the chairs? I think that is worth a try. The dining table and chairs are too squished where they are now. I am putting rough layout together. Bbl

Will hale navy work with anew gray. Yes. They're across from each other on the color wheel (almost directly) so it's technically a complementary color relationship. But what matters more is if you think Hale Navy looks pretty with Anew Gray. Some may tell you that these colors are neutral and 'go with everything'. Hale Navy has a fair amount of Chroma which is colorfulness, it's not all that close to being neutral. And while a lot of other colors will look just fine with Hale Navy, it can only get better with a technically well-crafted pairing - or color relationship. For example, Anew Gray in the Yellow Hue Family.
