Hard to comment without a lot of information, but I personally think there are nicer looking outdoor rugs available at Lowe's, Home Depot etc.

There is great outdoor carpeting and ours has remained outside the past 5 winters (we get lots of snow, so very durable).

If a smaller area, suggest an outdoor rug. Depends on the situation though and what’s under and around.

Please forgive the hijack Rocky! Mtn, about the ivy Screens...I bought mine on eBay after a little research. These were easy for me to install with horse shoe nails. I have to say though that for the first few months they looked too shiny. That dims with time. Do not open boxes indoors , the toxic smell was horrible. Here they are along the ugly fence before grass,plants and outdoor lighting. These are expandable so if you want fuller don't go as wide as I did or leave as much of a gap. Some people sprig faux ivy pieces here and there in gaps while real foliage grows to fill in more of the space. My plants are small right now so the gaps are funky. I was lucky to score a few Bauhinia Galpinii (Red Orchid tree/bush/climbers that will grow on each end. Here is the link. The company can be linked from there. Tatts, thank you for reminding me it will be a close-up look. That could be a turn-off. I think that since I have time what I should do is go out to Home Depot (and anywhere else I can think of that carries some of it) and spend time looking at and feeling it. I will probably start out using the rug I linked above. I already have it and don't have room in the new place for it so this seems good. I don't know how long it will last given that it is not an outdoor rug but since I already have it and got it at a fantastic price ... well, why not.

I would get a roll of synthetic grass and cut it into squares yourself. You will have a broader choice of the type and texture of the grass compared to buying grass tiles. You will also have to use adhesive to glue the grass to the concrete. Keep the blade length short if using conventional 3/8" thick tile otherwise, a thicker tile say a paver or travertine 1 1/2" thick tile will give you more latitude in terms of grass blade length.

I wouldn’t want to try snow removal on that surface. You might consider it for a patio that doesn’t get used during snow season and so doesn’t require snow removal. The kind of base that drains well enough for the pavers to not move overly much from freeze-thaw won’t make a good substrate for plants, and any blade used for snow removal has the potential to catch on the paver edge due to gap size.

A local bar and grill uses a super thick artificial turf on their patio. It feels excellent to walk on, but also harbors flies. My husband says that everyone spilling food and beer on it gave the flies a great place to lay their eggs. Trying to sit outside to eat was a nightmare so we stopped going there.

We put it all around the deck with our above ground pool I love it so easy to live with keeps the deck cooloer and looks awesome . We started with just a strip along the deck that gets the hottest loved it so did the whole deck. The one we got has holes to do drainage since of course we needed that for decking.
