How do you use your sofa table?
Comments (7)Thanks! You know, one thing to consider for a sofa table is, Do I need extra storage? We had a regular sofa table before and, while it worked wonderfully to hold a lamp and a couple framed photos of our kids, the space below it was wasted. When we looked for a replacement, I decided I wanted this piece to do double-duty. I ended up getting this credenza/buffet. It's actually narrower than the sofa table was, and has great closed storage besides. I store all my cookbooks, plus the phone books and some dvds there, as it's within easy reach of where I sit to plan out my meals and make phone calls. But, it could easily store photo albums, lots of dvds, cds, books, etc. Anyhoo, it's just something to consider while you're out shopping for furniture. Here's a pic of it from the other side. The hardware is antique pewter, but does not stand out like that IRL; it must be the flash that did it. Lynn...See MoreWhat do you have hanging on your wall over your sofa??
Comments (18)I know how hard can be to choose something to have there. From what you describe, an abstract painting would go nice there, but here is another idea. Over my living room sofa, I have a big gold mirror (35x42) with two other small sunburst mirrors (12x12, and 9x9) it looks great, but I just had a custom made mirror-window, in wood and black ( 32x42) for my dining room, and I like it so much that I am thinking about switching it with the big mirror over my living room sofa. I think the mirror-window would look great in your space. I had seen it in stores, but not exactly as I wanted it, but you can find it online. I would also suggest if you are not really sure, get any type of mirror. canôt go wrong with a mirror!! Let me know what you think. Good luck!!...See MoreCould You Share Pictures of Your Sofa?
Comments (58)Gilmoregal-thank you for your kind words. The sofa is a Bernhardt that I originally found at Haverty's. Then I found the exact sofa at Bob Mill's (which is a really strange store, they have really low end stuff and REALLY high end stuff) for half the price they wanted at Haverty's. I'm very happy with it so far. I also bought the matching chair and 1/2 which I like, but am not thrilled with the back cushion. It's going to need restuffing already. For some reason, it's totally different than the sofa cushions. I think you can look on Bernhardt's website and find the upholstery. If you need a closer pic, let me know. But it should be pretty easy to pick it out. I can't remember what the name of it is. Hope that helps....See MoreHow many pillows have you got on your couch?
Comments (27)I have a ridiculous number of pillows right now. But the chairs and loveseats are fairly deep and mom being elderly likes to be able to arrange to sit a bit further forward. Plus they are all feather inserts so they squish really easy. I forgot to see if any got tossed aside when we had a house full and they all seemed to be in the same place the next day so I guess no one had too big of an issue....or they figured I would shoot them for putting them on the floor...lol More likely is there just is not room in the room...See Morearcy_gw
