Bleaching will remove the red color from red oak and then you can introduce the color you're after...after that. However...wood bleach is highly caustic and very dangerous to use; utmost care must be maintained during its use...I cannot stress that more. Also...'some' professionals would be able to give you what you want...your DIY attempt will be successful only if you test and develop your skill on test boards before you actually attempt to work your floor and apply your chosen finish materials. Was anything installed between the subfloor and the flooring? The ambient hot weather/humid conditions obviously affected your flooring. You got two different prescriptions because there are many ways to cure imbalances in moisture levels above and below flooring. Sealing and dehumidifying the crawlspace is just one approach. I have even seen situations in which existing flooring was just fine until a basement area was insulated and then finished. In those instances, the flooring crowned and gaps appeared between the boards.

We used a Puritan Pine and Provincial mix on Red Oak. Floors downstairs are golden toned, but the floors upstairs appear darker...lighting? I love them! Like the downstairs, too. Hides dirt, scratches from dog, etc..

I'd choose between Natural and Twig based on your inspiration photo, since those have the same tones. The Birch is too yellow. It might help to think about the style of your home and the color of the wood furniture you have or are planning to use. Also the wall colors you like and how they would relate to the floors.
