Paypal is the current offender. I have NO Paypal account yet I continue to receive emails regarding an unpaid invoice for $599.00. Two already this morning!!

Emails from Ace Hardware and Lowe's (supposedly) announcing a free something or other (yeah, sure!!) are a close second. I get several on a daily basis even though I routinely send them to my junk mail folder.

OK, #3 Paypal spam just came through!! Can't get through to the attached customer service number..........

I would not call the number on the bottom of a Spam email nor click on their links. It is probably not from PayPal.

My sister got one from "Lowe's" saying she had won a golf car, and she only had to pay for shipping. She is very easily duped and I have to watch out for her.

I can tell most any spam, I just highlight it without opening and click on spam, then delete. I don't bother with reporting.

Evidently my bank account is locked due to suspicious activity.

Emails from Amazon saying our account has been frozen. I’ve never opened them, but you can see the ”account frozen” part in the email title. I called Amazon‘s customer service when the first one came just to check.

I apparently ordered a Garmin similar to Elizabeth's. I think mine was $959. Too bad, I'll never get it because it won't clear my nonexistent PayPal account.

I had one this week thanking me for my $599 purchase from McAfee antivirus programs. I've never used the brand and don't want to - I'm on an auto renewal schedule with Norton and have been for decades. It had been charged to my bank card? A very realistic looking typical mail response to an order. Legitimate enough looking I thought for a minute before sending it to spam, then emptying both my trash and spam folders. If a fee for almost $600 shows up on my bank card bill, I'll deal with it then ;)

I received the Social Security scam email, too! I reported it to the SSA fraud division to ask if they wanted me to forward it to them, but nada yet.

I got all of the above...too many to count...about 20 a day! I also won the JCP $5000 shopping spree....really! They've been trying to contact me.....funny...if I owe them money they contact me just fine. 😂

Ded, I received 2 messages, as if one wasnt enough, about 3 minutes apart that my bank account was compromised. These came last night so besides having a suspicious ’from’ address, the language was crazy.

You just reminded me I never claimed the $50,000 I won last July.

LOL that it was causing a delay for Fed Ex. That right there is when a little voice inside me said, ”This doesn’t sound right”.

Xfinity apparently has a couple of cases on me. One regarding my statement, the other some type of case "report". Didn't open either email. What I am finding most annoying, though, are the texts that I've been getting around 4 AM telling me this or that account has been suspended due to credit card problems. I always freak out when I get a text at that hour, considering the ages of my parents.

Both Apple and Android phones have a setting to silence phones during overnight hours, allowing only connections, whether calls, texts, or emails, from people you specify to make a noise. Others are received silently.

Just using the Sleep in the health app will silence calls that are not in your contacts but since most people do not have the number of their bank or credit card security areas in their contacts it will also silence them. When I was using it to try to regulate the hours I slept I did receive text messages from the bank. Mostly for non-important things like my credit score.

Never, ever call any number that is in a suspected spam message. You can be directed to an offshore or system that will bill for each minute you are connected. I check out the suspicious ones on my laptop. At the top of my mail are three little dots. If I put a check next to a suspicious email then click on those dots, select "block senders". A new screen will pop up showing the actual email address of where the email is from. Many of the spam I receive will show a company that I do business but when I do this the information before the @ is a bunch of garbage. I started doing this when I missed an important appointment because the doctor's office used a third party for appointments.

I use gmail for my primary account, and I rarely ever get spam. What email servers do people use, that get so much spam?

I got something from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois about status of a claim. Except my company uses BCBS of Texas and I haven't made any claims. The email looks remarkably convincing, though.

I have accounts from different providers. I've found Gmail to be one of the better services as regards its unwanted message filtering. Just like Goldilocks was looking for - not too much, not too little, just right. The unwanted messages I get come as SMS messages and an occasional Skype message. Not enough of either to be annoying, they're easy enough to spot and, futily, block.

Got a call from Homeland Security, advising I was going to be arrested. Drugs were found in a parcel being shipped to my address. They asked my name, I replied ” You called me, so you tell me what my name is ” Click and silence.

Or we get calls from CRA..Being arrested for Tax fraud…

On my Gmail account, I get hardly any spam. However, I still use my AOL account, not sure why, and there I get so many that it's just amazing. I regularly get the ones from Amaz Customer Service locking my account, Bank of America ( which I love because I have never ever had an account there ). I have gotten that one for McAfee and Norton I think with my $599 charge pending.

Some of them are so good that I actually shudder for a moment. There was a really good youtube about how good these scams are getting, where they use an upper case letter I to be a lower case L for example, and you don't really see that it's not right.

I get a lot of the You have won a prize from various companies. My favorite one was from a scammer who said they had a video of me doing x-rated activities from my laptop. They said if I didn't send them $7700 in bitcoin they would send video to my parents (who are deceased btw). I just laughed at it.

I have had that "they have a video of me". No mention of sex. No threat to send it to a specific person just it would be released to the internet. I laughed and deleted it. People would be really thrilled at seeing me eating and drinking my coffee while I sit in front of the laptop or if in the opposite direction the dust bunnies the cats drag out.

Also the Walmart gift card scam. They ask you to do a survey but they don't say anything about buying subscription to magazines until the end
