Dark Green suggestions
Comments (11)We have Louisburg Green in our DR and love it! That's why I was so disappointed with the effect our den has on the Tate Olive, because they're on the same card together. Trailrunner- your Thyme walls are so deep and rich. How great! I will check into Olive Branch. I can't find it on my fan deck, but from google pics it appears to be light and sagey. Is that that case? Baby Turtle and Artifact are too brown for DH. I personally think they would look fabulous, something in a tobacco color would work so well with my furniture, art and rug, but DH is so anti-brown walls. Anyone have any tips for tricking/convincing spouses to go along with your wall color choices? Otherwise I'm stuck with his caveman green idea....See MoreLight fixture dilemma/ +++pics/ opinions welcome, I can take it!
Comments (18)I'm in agreement on the pendants...don't get the matched ones. One of the reason that chandy is so fabulous and will be in your house is that it appears to be a one of type of thing. It flows well with the pendants and will help deleniate the dining area from the kitchen nicely. I'm so glad we can be friends now...cuz honey you got some great freaking lighting taste. As to that one for the foyer you didn't get....have you considered a divorce???? heh heh Ok keep the man but sheesh....a lamp is a lifetime...a man....ok well they are too but the lamp will never lose it's hair :oP My chicken: (and no my house is NOT tuscan...It's just eclectic): The foyer lamp I let get away (but now I have a house for it so it's gonna be MINE!!!)...See MoreHallway Cabinet Dilemma
Comments (18)You'll probably have a hard time with the hinges (and what's wrong with them anyway? They are bits of decorative hardware!). I suspect those cabinet doors have a semi-inset thing going on which is why they look thinner than they are. When they are in good shape like yours appear to be, it's really a more solid and custom feel than modern full overlay, although the style is simpler. (Some of these in more formal areas had applied molding on the door faces, usually thin stuff. Very dainty, and something you could add if you wanted to gussy up the existing doors.) I'd paint the cabinets the trim color (with a good sheen) and continue the wall color on the walls....See MoreCarpet and hallway dilemma
Comments (5)We would like to make our family room more welcoming and comfy. Ideally this would be a place with comfy seating where we can watch movies. We would also like to use the corner outside the closet as a play area and keep the corner desk somehow. The room is 18 ft on the wall with the window and 24 ft long. Any ideas on how to place the furniture so it's the appropriate distance from a 55-in TV. New furniture will be purchased. I also like the idea of an electric fireplace since this room is over the garage and stays cool....See Morehbeing
