I have a northeast facing dining room that was wallpapered in blue damask for many years. That combined with cherry and mahogany furniture made the room seem very dark. So what to do, since I also did not want to replace all the furniture? 1. I painted the room--walls and trim--in B. Moore's Linen White. This is a very creamy warm white, in the yellow hue family. It's amazing how just that color brightens the space. 2. I replaced the dull formal Oriental rug with a light herringbone casual one. It's made of PET, which is recycled plastic. It's amazing how soft and pretty it is, it feels like cotton, but PET is easy to clean. You can find a lot of them on Annie Selke's website. 3. I selected a beautiful flowing floral pattern fabric for curtains and shades. This happy fabric in robin's egg blue, greens and reds brightens up the room and the style adds a lively dash of color without blocking any of the natural light. 4. I painted one of the wood pieces with chalk paint. This adds a bit of whimsy and lessens the formality of the brown furniture. Hope that helps!

Beth--- this is just my 2 cents but I would not do that color on the front door. I live in a neighborhood of over 2000 homes in sunny Florida. We can pretty much paint our homes any color we want. I see all the homes who have done the pop of color for the front door and 9 out of 10 times it doesn't work. All you notice is the door. I find it takes away from the home instead of adding value to it. When we were trying to decide on our color my fiancee actually made renditions of the home. He would add different colors to the door so we could see how it would look. Maybe take a picture of your house and upload it to SW and use their paint tool and see how it would look.

You have all the time in the world to order knobs and pulls for a kitchen . Waht is it you already ordered since often Ilike the same pulls everywhere. As for finding someone on here to help you find a match good luck.

My vote is BM Pale Oak. It works very well with Revere pewter and is a lighter taupe colour. But there are other colours that will work well, depending on how light you want to go. You really need to test paint colours in your space with the lighting on and off including daylight. The colour of your light bulbs can have a huge impact on wall colour. A yellow light bulb can make everything look yellow. Try bulbs with at least 3500K. I like 4000K but some people find it too white for their taste. Here are some other colours that you could consider, this shows Revere pewter and pale oak as well as others that could coordinate. White Dove is a widely used favourite on Houzz. Lots of folk like Swiss Coffee too, although it reads yellow in this graphic (at least on my screen) so that is why you need to get samples and try them in your space.
