Potential Asbestos In home’s Air

Samuel Mayhew
last year

We have a house built in 1917. I was doing some remodel work in our upstairs guest room. I pulled out lathe and plaster and some old insulation. I realize now that it was likely asbestos insulation. I have already sheetrocked and covered up the area I was working in, swept, vacuumed, had an air purifier running etc. I will test the insulation to see if it is asbestos, but If it is Asbestos then would the fibers stay in the house even after cleaning up everything or if they do then do they go back into the air everytime the furnace kicks on? Is living in the house a continual exposure to those fibers that I should be concerned about?
