Backsplash ideas please!
Comments (13)It looks so peaceful and calm as is (love the lighting under top cabinets!). I am a person who is just fine with paint, except perhaps behind the sink. I really love the idea of the glass that damiarain suggested. I'd put the glass directly over the existing paint, but perhaps behind the sink or stove, I'd put a wallpaper detail and cover it with glass. Really love your kitchen!...See Morebacksplash ideas please
Comments (8)You have a very beautiful, sleek, contemporary kitchen. Your cabinets are the star, with your countertops in the supporting role. The backsplash should just be a neutral palate on which the whole picture is painted. I would use a matte finish white subway tile. No "standing out" tile. Your cabinets are very elegant and simple. Think Meghan Markel's gorgeous Givenchy wedding gown - totally unadorned and stunning. That's what your cabinets are. It's a very sophisticated kitchen....See MoreKitchen backsplash ideas please
Comments (5)Nory, you’ve done a great job so far, and your tile ideas sound right on the mark. A large format subway tile would be lovely. If you go for white, make sure to bring samples home to view in your space, in your light, to ensure that the glaze you choose matches the white of your cabinets. That said, you can venture out a bit, if you like, into a shaped tile. This is Fireclay Tile....See MoreIdeas for Backsplash Please..
Comments (13)Hi again, I don't see those tile choices working with a waterjet pattern behind the range. If you are going to mix tiles, in my opinion they have to have some relationship to each other to work. If you try to mix two very different tiles with nothing to tie them together, they just look lost with each other. Look at pictures on Houzz of kitchens with accent tiles behind the range. The ones that look best are the ones where the two tiles are alike in some way If you feel you want to do an accent tile behind the range and you want a waterjet style then I think you need to look for tiles that compliment the waterjet. This one is gold accent with Calacatta and Thassos. Thassos is quite white, the Calacatta has the grey veining. Then you could choose a Calacatta marble for the rest of the backsplash area. I know this is subway and you said you'd prefer not to have subway, but you can find Calacatta in many shapes and sizes. This one is Calacatta Blue....you'd need to talk to your tile supplier to find a matching tile for the rest of the space but this idea marries the white and gold and blue colours you've chosen. This one is Thassos and Mother of Pearl. You might be able to find a mother of pearl tile with blues in it that would work with this. This one is dolomite and Lais grey. It looks blue to me, but on the purple side. I think I'd choose white dolomite to go with this one. This one caught my eye for you. It is paper white, carrara and brass. You could find a carrara tile for the rest of the space. But, if you like the one from Sonoma Tiles.....it comes in other shapes and colours. You could try mixing the shapes. I don't know how much surface you need to cover. I think you'd want to get some samples and see if too much of the pattern is going to feel overwhelming. This is their Bodhi Iridescent in three different shapes...and there are more than that on their website. Maybe this brick pattern everywhere else and one of the patterns below behind the range? This has the darker blues than the one pictured previously. Here is a blue and white kitchen with these tiles. It is a different blue than yours.....but they are using the brass pulls and accents....See MoreTara L
