The table is fairly narrow in width...... 25" in diameter Typically, should have a diameter of 1/2 to 2/3 the width of the table. A chain vs. a down rod makes it easier to hang as you can more easily adjust the height, but with a 8 foot ceiling just be cognizant of the down rods if you go that route as you want the chandelier to hang at the proper height.... not too high. Typically, down rods come in two 12" and 3 or so 6" so it's a bit more of a commitment when hanging as you don't have the luxury of taking it up or down a few inches to make it just right.

Our recommendations for light sizing are based around the width of the island. I assume that is the 66" measurement, so we take 66 and subtract 12. That's 54, a good maximum light size per pendant. I don't know what sizes are available for the pendants, but you could certainly go towards the larger side (that's the trend right now, too--larger pendants). For finish, since you said you have silver handles, you could look towards the nickel family. Or you could also consider bronze!
