Shelves in Cabinets?
Comments (9)I have 36" high uppers with 3 shelves plus the bottom. The way the carpenter put the shelves in, the top two are pretty close to each other... considering it's hard to reach up there, it may not be a bad thing that I can't stack too much on top of each other. Of course, I can always readjust the shelves. Just haven't figured out what's going where yet. :-) I remember talley_sue here on GW telling me she ordered her cabinets with extra shelves because she hates stacking things and she wanted a lot of shelves close together. She is a marvel of organization and space optimization!!! Btw, my cabinet over the OTR microwave doesn't have any shelves in it right now. There's a cutout for the electrical cord coming from the top of the m/w on the right, and the outlet was positioned on the left vertically centered right where you'd want to put the shelf! If the outlet had been a little lower, I could have had a shelf in there. Nothing like planning ahead. Well, it may answer the questions of where to store the tall cereal boxes......See MoreHELP! Comments (7)So.. have a tall Rectangular curio cabinet w curved top & a door. all shelves same size (grooved edge on back for plates) so def know which way they go in. Have moved several times & never had any issue putting shelves back in. This time tilted one up too far & hit shelf above & it came crashing down. had another shelf made. Now trying to put the top shelf in w one of the originals (all have heavy duty coated pegs to sit on. ) I know I have to tilt them a little to go in but can’t seem to fit it in the top one Seems like the curve at inside top is now in the way??? Really nervous about doing this again. One of the shelves further down is stationary, can’t adjust the height - sits on a sml wood trim ledge. Do I put them in from the top down or bottom up? Help!!...See MoreShelves above cabinets
Comments (3)I think it's a solution if you happen to have kitchen cabinets that don't go all the way up to the ceiling. This was not planned like this from the beginning. Rather, it was a "storage upgrade" using: 4 small wine racks (more depending on the length of your shelf) 1 board, 1â³ x 12â³, cut to length 1 quart of paint (in satin or semigloss)...See MoreShelves or Cabinets on each side of Electric Fireplace?!
Comments (4)I guess I am trying to find input on IF that looks proper, or maybe if there is a better idea even? I think my idea is good (because I thought of it, haha) but I don't know about materials flowing. The fireplace has a black 2" metal lip all around it for a border. The doors would need to be plywood and not drywall because of hinges and rigidity....thus they would need stained or painted (a design choice I am so uneducated on) and then if the doors should be as shown or more like a full overlay style, etc. I'm also open to photos for ideas!...See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
