It is a nice idea... I bet that clear floral spray paint that Michael's has (DesignMaster, I think it's called) would work well to preserve the feathers and prevent shedding, too. Michaels had had some cute feather wreaths at Christmas. I'd gotten one with peacock feathers. -Jenn

For my 3rd grader's party we are discussing doing a few things. First all we are having sundaes for snacks along with a pink drink of some sort. We are going tp play a game of a name written on the back of a student and he/has to guess from hints as to who it is. In Family Fun Christmas issue they had where you took a cupcake paper cup, bent the bottoms together, used double sided tape and taped them. You ended up with a fortune cookie shape. I have some Valentine cupcake papers from last year and they are adorable as fortune cookies. Now I just have to think of sayings to go inside. One more thing...I'm going to buy red shirts for my dd's. I;m going to let them draw hearts on the shirts using the Clorox Gel Pen. I have never done this, so I hope it works out okay.

Every year I make one of these Valentines for my family, and for my grandchildren. (One per household) I use a huge piece of white posterboard, a red felt tipped marker and write the following poem. Every where there is the name of a candy bar, I hotglue a package or piece of that candy, unwrapped so that the name shows and can be read. Its been a hit for years, and everyone of them always look forward to the card. Of course I cant mail it, I always deliver it with lots of hugs and kisses :-) Ive made the candy bar names in BOLD Heres the Valentine: My Dearest Sugar Baby, Happy Valentine's Day! May this card bring you a Snicker as you read my message. You are my Bit-O-Honey, you are worth more than a 100 Grand to me, I get Goo Goo eyes every time I see you. There are more stars in my eyes for you than in the Milky Way. Our Good-N-Plenty life together is like shopping on 5th Avenue on Pay Day. I know I can be Carefree with you. As you know, I love you Now and Later and I wish you Mounds of Almond Joy on this Valentine's Day.

What a fun thread this has turned into. Love hearing everyone's comments (and concern) about lack of decorations for Valentines--makes me know I am not alone. LOL I hardly had any before, but did pick up a few things last year and even cut out and painted wooden "heart cookies". I've also been buying cherub items all year when I've found cute ones in the TS. Need to look for some plates this year I think. Karen, I know what you mean--all of us seem to have a hard time knowing when to STOP don't we? If it's pretty, we want it! Jenn, I just can't believe you don't have guys knocking on your door day and night! You have such a fun personality and a way with words. Not to mention the fact that you are a good bargain hunter and good decorator too. They just don't know what they are missing. ;o) But I agree, we should decorate to make ourselves happy and if others enjoy, that's great too. Sounds like this Valentine's, St. Pat's, and Easter should be really fun around here. Can't wait to see everyone's creations whether it be pretty tables, vignettes or just a few decorations here and there. Luvs
