Rabbit Rabbit: tomorrow is February 1!

Tomorrow is the 1st of the month and if the first words out of your mouth are "rabbit rabbit" you'll have good luck all month. Anytime after midnight is fine and no need to say it to anyone.

I don't believe in "luck", so I didn't say it. Sueb - I'll remember who to thank if that happens!! HH, I think bunny should be allowed! I cannot believe it is already August. I remember as a child my grandmother would talk about how time flies. She lived to almost 100. Now I know what she meant . . . In responding on a post about dishes (RL thread), I thought about how I want to decorate the table for Christmas. Fleeting thoughts, but it still hit me!

Oh dear, I blew it, kind of. When I was on the big island, I took a piece of lava rock home with me and then all sorts of terrible ills befell my family one after the other, broken bones, surgeries and so on. So then I started saying "Pele Pele Rabbit Rabbit" and the ills went away. So ever since then, I say "Pele Pele Rabbit Rabbit". But this a.m. I screwed up and said Rabbit Rabbit...then Pele Pele...hope she doesn't seek revenge on me this month!!

We did it! Interesting tidbit. I was on a live streaming video chat last night and someone said don't forget to rabbit rabbit! I of course was surprised that someone brought it up. I said we always try to remember. That started a discussion about what it is and what it means. So a lot more people now know about it. 😁

I haven't forgotten for about the last 6 months, but the bedside phone rang and woke me up this morning. I said Hello. It was a robo call. When I hauled myself out of bed a few minutes later, I did say Tibbar Tibbar - maybe that helped.

Got it. I think my rabbit must have been hibernating in January. First half of the month was covid and the second half is bad back pain.

Alarms are set here as well. Thanks for the reminder. I've been busy all day so just looked and just on time. 20 minutes before the actual rabbiting hour.

DH and I played our parts beautifully and said rabbit rabbit at the right time.

I woke up this a.m. and turned on the tv to get the weather report. The gal said something about the weather to start your month and I immediately said it! I heard DH stir so said it to him and he said it back. We're good to go!

Aok I use the rabbit rabbit backwards at just before midnight on the 1st and don't say anything till after midnight in order to offset missing rabbit rabbit. I'm pretty sure Annie doesn't think it works but I've often felt it doesn't hurt :-). I would say Tibbar tibbar just before midnight and not talk till after midnight. I stay up that late so maybe it is easy for me to say. :-). I'm guessing that you didn't say rabbit rabbit.

I remembered too. I think I remembered every month all of last year. It wasn't one of my best years. I'd wanted '23 to be better and it's not beginning that way when I'd rabbited on New Years Day morning! Nothing with us but our immediate circle is experiencing losses, spouses who have been ill, parents. 2 services down and a big one this Sunday.

The rabbit doesn't seem to be working (or at least working very hard) for me, I'd hate to lose faith in that bunny ;)
