I have one and it does work! I bought it at TJM or Ross or one of those, with the same expectation as you. To my surprise, it works really well. I don't know about the ones that are on the inside of a cabinet door. I think my daughter said it didn't work for her but it might have been the configuration .

It does take up space, but everything is handy and easy to locate.

Yeah they work. They're even better for cookie sheets, cutting boards, and other flat things that are hard to dig out of a stack. Be sure to measure your vertical space or you might be stuck with only being able to store small lids.

I have used some in the past.

To me it depends on how you store your pots. Right now I have my actual pots and saucepans in drawers and not stacked, so I store the lid upside down with its pot. I don’t worry about whether I will always use the lid when I get out the pot.

But I have some skillets tgat have lids which are not always used at same time. Because some of my cabinets are the “ old fashioned “ regular deep kind but some have fixed shelves, I use a couple of long narrow plastic bins that essentially pull out like a drawer, with a few lids in them. Sort of lihe a pretend Rev a Shelf.
And it depends on the angle at which you access the stuff. Some divider gadgets stand flat on a shelf so the lid goes in lije a book in a slot. Others have part of the wire part raised up so the lid sits above the shelf. That takes more clearance but may help cradle the lid. This type worked for me when I had a pullout shelf and so sat the lids in the holder from above.

For a while I had rectangular basket that I stacked the lids in, inside the cabinet, which has a slide out and that worked out pretty good. I need to go through my lids and decide what stays and then decide if a rack will work best or maybe another rectangular container.
