Comments (28)I'm just a basic cook, certainly not of the caliber of other GWers here. I envy their talent. I used to love to cook and to experiment with recipes. And then I had kids and well, things changed. :) DH wants to take cooking lessons with me so hopefully I'll get to be more adventurous and skilled again. Buying a pan from different lines to try it out is my plan, alex9179. I read good reviews on Farberware's Millenium line and it's reasonably priced so I'll start there. And I plan to ask Santa for a Le Crueset Dutch oven, maybe a red one to go with my scarlet Fiestware dishes. :) And I will definitely check out cookware at the link you included, thanks! Thanks to you, too, sjhockeyfan, for the cookware suggestions. sjhockeyfan and westsider, thanks for the tips about using the touch pad. I've been known to press the keys on my keyboard harder than necessary as if it were an old-fashioned typewriter like the ones I learned to type on. Oops. Interesting, westsider, about the amp requirements. We wouldn't have had an issue since we added an extra panel over a year ago to handle the big power tools my hubby inherited from my dad (both hobby woodworkers). We haven't filled up the new circuit breaker so we have power to spare. Not a bad situation to be in. I compared the kW of the 8666 to the discontinued 5665. They are nearly identical; the only difference I could see was for the middle burner. The 8666 has a higher kW. And yet the overall electrical connection requirement is less. Curious. Well, as long as I can use all 5 burners (not all on boost, I know that much) on the rare occasions when I need to, I'll be happy. Thanks, again, everyone, you've been immensely helpful (even if I did get a little confused there for a bit). sjhockeyfan, I gotta ask. Are you in the Bay area? My DS1 moved there in March and couldn't wait to go to a hockey game. Doesn't care for other sports that much but he loves hockey. I think he likes it mostly for the fights. Like the old joke: I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out. :)...See MoreInduction Slide in Range, Kitchenaid vs Bosch
Comments (13)We upgraded to KitchenAid induction last year and love it. The cooktop is very responsive to temp changes you make. Can be at a full boil and if you change it to low it stops boiling right away. The simmer feature is also great. The cooktop has a lock feature which is nice. They were (and I believe still are) offering a nice set of free cookware with purchase. They are really great, but took several weeks to arrive. Until we received them we made do with some random pans we bought. The new pan set made all the difference in the world. I just didn’t want to spend several hundred dollars on a new set since I knew they were sending me a set. The oven is large and has a steam setting which I haven’t used yet. There’s also a shallow warming drawer. I have nothing but positive things to say about the range. We are building a new house and I researched gas ranges till my eyes crossed. In the end we have decided to get another KitchenAid induction....See MoreBertazzoni vs Bosch 800 series french door refrigerator?
Comments (14)I purchased the Bosch counter depth French door with two drawers and ice in first drawer. My previous was a Whirlpool with water and ice on door which I had 15 years with issues with water/ice the last 2 years. With the Bosch I immediately noticed food stays fresh longer. The 3 internal drawers work as advertised. Quit .. to be honest you don’t hear it which is key when you have open floor plan. When first delivered noticed a dent in one door. Bosch sent out service guy within days with new door. Highly recommend the 800 series....See More30" Induction Range: Bertazzoni, Bosch, GE, Fulgor, Miele, Wolf, etc.
Comments (52)Design girl well im about 95% sure im getting this range! i know its a little more proud of the cabinets but im not caring any more, lol. How has your edges around the ceramic held up? do you find that it scratches easy? Because this range is more than a year old from the manufacture date, i only qualify for a 1 year parts and labor warranty if i read the warranty correctly - but i have an email out to the north american distributor to verify. I’ll purchase a 5 year warrenty as well but it only includes parts and not labor, and not replacement iirc When i went into the showroom to be sure i didn’t want the FM this morning, I could really tell the difference with the FM build compaired with the Fisher Paykel. I will most likely get the FM because of the price. All the materials included with the range are with the floor model, meaning documents, temp prob, and broiling pan. Its never been used to demo. High end appliances are almost too much for my locale. Once i buy it i will be dealling with the Vetta Group for warranty work....See MoreRyan B
