Living Room Furniture layout ideas needed
Comments (1)Your dogs are cute photobombers! I adore your wood walls. I think to arrange the furniture best you will have to ignore the window seat. Does anyone sit there? What in the room stays? What can go? Is the focal point the TV, the fireplace, the view or multiple focal points? If you post a sketch of the room with measurements and placement of doors, windows, fireplace, ladder etc...and measurements of your furniture I can work up several layouts for you....See MoreNeed help with this layout!
Comments (8)I agree with grover ... There is WAY too much furniture in this space. Too many dresser/console/side table pieces. Pare down a bit and give yourself (and your toddler!) some breathing room. In that small space, I can't imagine you really need to put your little one in the playpen. Just childproof what you need to, and keep bedroom doors shut. That way you can eliminate the playpen (add'l clutter!) He/she will grow out of it in the blink of an eye anyway. (Trust me, I have a 4yo!) You might also sell your coffee table and replace with a smaller oval table. Something with a glass top would take up less visual weight. An added bonus is the glass is easy to wipe clean, and no hard corners!...See MoreLiving room furniture placement ideas
Comments (5)That's a difficult space. I would recommend it be broken up into two separate sitting areas, and you define that space with two smaller carpets. Otherwise you wind up with everything spread out and it will feel awkward to have any kind of conversation area (as the prior owner's layout attests to). I would use a loveseat / small sofa in front of the fireplace (facing it) as the anchor for one seating area, and then two chairs (probably swivels) in the corners by the fireplace. In the second space, by the bookcases, a pair of wing chairs with a table/lamp between them facing the bookcases. Get a loveseat or small sofa with a pretty back on it, such as the Hancock and Moore Redford sofa if you feel you can accommodate an 82" width piece in that spot. This looks terrific from the back. - Duane Collie, owner of The Keeping Room...See MoreLiving room furniture ideas! Help!
Comments (7)In order for us to help you, we need to know what his style is. If unknown, have him put in top search box various styles one at a time and have him note what he likes and doesn't like. Traditional, transitional, modern, shabby chic, glam, casual, country, old world, mid century modern, farmhouse, etc. We also need to know the measurements and a floor plan....See MoreMuskan Agarwal
