OT: Small sectional sofas?
Comments (12)I have a family room that is off the kitchen too. MY DH loves our Natuzzi. They make many different styles, colors and sizes. I love being able to read near my kitchen. I agree a sofa that you sink into doesn't work when you are reading a cook book with something on the stove. Not knowing your style, colors etc.. I found a few sofas that are apartment size. These tend to be smaller. Rowe is normally large but they do have a few that are small. How about Baers sectional? Bergstorm is a furniture that sells small cozy sofas? Here are some pictures. ~boxerpups...See MoreLiving Room Decorating Help, Sofa / Sectional advice needed! Pic
Comments (22)I am more than happy to share where this stuff came from and am extremely flattered. The rug is the "Brice" rug from Pottery Barn, 9 X 12. The sectional is made by Jonathan Louis. It is called "Knobhill" and the fabric is called Basil Flannel. I got it at a local furniture store but I saw somewhere that Jonathan Louis furniture might be available at Macy's. The website has a dealer locator: http://jonathanlouis.net/. One armchair is coming this evening. I am going to arrange it all again and post another photo. This is immensely helpful and I am just sorry that I can't try every suggestion! Have a spare small desk in the garage, and will try whatever else I can get my patient DH to do. To make things more complicated, I found out that I can order another piece for the sectional. Since I bought the floor model I didn't think of it before. It will seamlessly extend the longer side another 28". That side will def. have to go against the wall (as in the first photos), but the room will be filled out a little more. Yet another option! I think I have decided against exchanging for a sofa/loveseat. One more question: when moving the sofa away from the wall, how far should it be? Just enough to balance things, or enough for an acutal person to pass through?...See MoreHelp me with color of accent pillows for the sectional
Comments (35)I sometimes like pillow shopping as much as I like shopping for jeans. :) I understand what you mean about sometimes posting and then not really getting any feedback. It can be a little discouraging at times. I usually end up feeling very,"Hello? Help! Anyone??" I think having blue in the pillows is a good idea and will help tie in the art (which I really like) I'll wait to see, but I think I'll really like the floral ones because they'll add some lightness and it ties in the blue. I agree to seeing the overload of pillows everywhere. I do think it sometimes looks nice, but I can't deal with that many IRL and once you actually add a few people to the room.... They're also not all going to fit in that 'basket' everyone speaks of unless you smoosh the heck out of them! A tower of pillows on the basket maybe....See MoreNeed sectional sofa area rug ideas!
Comments (23)If your mantle and mahogany choices are staying- at least for foreseeable future- I’d get them in place first, but meanwhile “ collect “ rugs in your inspo book - some plain, some patterned. If you have kids you may not want a solid cream rug! I do love that patterned rug as it makes the floor color look great yet blends warm and cool for gray walls/ furniture and warm floors , warm wood furniture. So much more interesting and lively than gray gray gray. I tone who thinks bits of black are ok with dark brown furniture or vice versa, not all matchy, and it’s not hard to repeat a few black accents. OTOH you might find a similar rug with chocolate brown. Meanwhile if you want to play with some colors and patterns IRL you could find some pillows that are returnable and see how you’re leaning. Pillows can be found cheaply but then may be … cheap. I always try to get removable zipper covers in fabrics that feel good, can be washed, and use feather inserts ( although some folks prefer poly fills), and & try to find ones I love looking at, then I can keep pillows fresh & switch covers occasionally by storing covers themselves....See MoreSandra Fabiano
