Does anyone know what brand this shower head is?

I’m trying to put in a shower head that has a filter for hard water, but i’m not sure if this one already has one. if it does, it probably needed to be exchanged years ago.

on a similar note, any special considerations when taking the shower head off since there is the tape in place?

That’s teflon tape that helps make a tight seal. Just unscrew the head and look. Buy a new roll of teflon tape.

And soak that shower head in a water and vinegar solution to remove the build up on it.

The first one looks like Oceanside Glass tile. You can customize the mosaic by picking the shape and color choices or just go with one of their pre-made combos. The bottom one could be from anyone. ok ok, if you love the toilet keep it and I didn't realize you already had it LOL. I totally understand there are just some items we love and gotta have :) for me I went cheap on the light fixtures and other little details but splurged on the vanity top for example - but I knew I wanted quartz so I get it when there is stuff you love. How far past the 30 days are you? you can always call and say you're not happy with the vanity and see if they will take it back. Otherwise the piece is still very nice looking. You may find a spot somewhere else in the house for it.. or with time someone may eventually buy it. With 96" in your space I think a modern custom vanity fit exact to the space will look great. I was quoted Kitchen craft cabinets and they are frameless and have the modern look & feel. They were pricey but may be in your budget. I think Kitchen craft is just a mid grade line. I could be wrong though. My vanity came last night and I'm very happy with it. The pics are hard to see because we have it in our tiny den and the lighting isn't the greatest. We went for more of the traditional look. It's a cherry front with a pretty dark/reddish finish. I can't wait to see what it looks like installed with the new top. I paid $1050. I will try to post pics from my phone.

I am curious about what size softener could be fitted into a shower head that would successfully deal with a shower-grade stream of hard water.

That looks like an inexpensive, plastic showerhead which I very much doubt has any kind of replaceable filter in it. It's seen better days and there is no benefit in trying to research who made it. Simply replace it with a new one that meets your needs. There are many good showerheads from reliable brands that are inexpensive and will resist clogging and/or have rubbery nozzles that are fairly easy to clean if necessary.

That look like a Waterpik. And I agree- there there’s pprobably no filter in there. Get a Speakman, pull the restrictor, and never look back.
