The text disappeared... Here again: My main shower is old and in need of updating. The shower is a single handle valve. The gold finish plate over the valve has a SA stamped on it which apparently stands for American Standard. At any rate, the valve works fine but I was wondering about update or upgrade options. Without tearing into the wall can I find the correct updated trim packages available today? I suppose I would have to tear into the wall to replace the valve? The existing main bath is entirely builders grade fixtures and I would like to upgrade but dont want to tear-out. What to do?

Hello, First time posting to the discussion board. I am in the process of purchasing a new home and want to simply replace the shower trim pieces to another style and color. I have 2 questions; 1. Can someone please help me identify the brand these current handles are, and/or replacements that will work with them? 2. Can someone help me understand this system - looks like there is a temperature knob (bigger handle), then a flow knob for each the shower head, wand, and bath faucet - so overall 4 handles. A quility fixture has identifying marks cast into the body and often the mfgrs name under/inside handles and/or stems. You have the choice of dealing with better plumbers or taking fixture to a plumbing parts distributor. If you can take them to Dallas Tx,I can give you names but I don't keep up with places I don't service.
