I'm close to choosing my first toilet seat bidet. I'm considering these: BB BLISS 2000, BB 1000, SWASH 1000, COCO Bidet 9500RS, Coway BA13, & TOTO 300 (with or w/out the 'e'--electrolized water, supposedly more sanitary). 1 Do I really need to buy an elongated toilet?? My toilet is round, & frankly, it feels nice and comfy to me. Mostly it's only myself, and sometimes my 4 yr old grandson, who'll use this toilet. Some say the round tsbidets are too small. 2 Does anyone have an elongated tsbidet on a round toilet? 3 Has anyone put a white tsbidet on a beige toilet? (Some tsb only come in white, so of course my toilet is beige!) 4 I'm wondering if the "Far Infrared dryers" offer better drying; if they're better than just warm air dryers for people with various 'unmentionable' problems; or if it doesn't matter at all. Or maybe they're all far infrared? 5 Some have a 'Splash Guard'. Do tsbidets squirt water (clean or yucky) from below the seat? Thanks for any guidance!

vegasneon, As I understand your original post... the original flapper began to stay up and you replaced the flapper with a universal model and the new flapper stays up just the same as the original flapper? Is that correct? If that is correct then something or someone caused the original flapper to bind on its mount or its the chain and handle binding preventing it from falling. Perhaps the flapper mount was twisted on the tube. It is as simple as that. Since the new universal flapper has not solved the problem you look for the problem elsewhere. As a side note... universal anythings usually work equally poorly in all applications so always try to find the CORRECT part for your application. You may have bought the wrong flapper. Perhaps a 1.6g flapper and you have the older style toilet? Some toilets designs must have their specific brand replacement flapper. Sometimes the flush handles bind and sometimes the chains kink or turn on themselves keeping the flappers up. I have never seen a flapper bind on its pivots or mount but if the water has enough hardness or sediment it could happen. Shut off the water to the toilet. Flush the toilet to empty the tank. Remove the chain from the flapper. Move the flapper with your hand up and down. It should move FREELY with no resistance other than the weight of the flapper. If the flapper does not move freely then you don't know what you're looking at and wouldn't recognize the problem so get someone who has a fresh set of eyes or experience to take a look. I suspect this is an easy fix but not over the net...

I do not think that you need a smart toilet. A bidet toilet seat is enough. It is so common these days, because of bathroom space issues and all the economical price that it has. Also , bidet toilet seat comes with a variety of options such as hot and cold water use. I have bought a bidet toilet seat from Bidet Buzz and it has been working great. I really recommend to have a Bidet toilet seat rather than spending more money on smart toilet.

My Toto washlet automatically opens the lid when someone approaches and then closes the lid when you walk away. it can also be programmed so that it raises the SEAT when someone stands in front of it as a man would when he is urinating. It then closes the seat and the lid when the person walks away. I feel your pain in terms of someone leaving the seat up because a few times I have literally almost fallen into the toilet beause I wasn't expecting the seat to be up. The lid is theoretically supposed to be left down in terms of "politeness" but to me that isn't as big a deal as a seat being left up although it is nice that the Toto toilet lid is automatic and so my toilet lids are always down. My washlet was not cheap but it was SO worth it and is on my list of best things I got when I remodeled
