Mohawk Solidtech Pro?

Very much considering Mohawk Solidtech Pro in the new color Amber Escapes, Charlotte. Anyone have experience installing or living with this product? I can find lots of info about Revwood, but not their LVP. Thanks!

Here it is under our kitchen LED lighting next to some Flooret Modin Nakan planks.

When I look at Solidtech Plus Amber Escape Charlotte Mohawk SolidTech Plus Amber Escape Charlotte | OnFlooring I see more tone variation than I would like. Maybe you need a full-length plank sample. Too much is a tell of vinyl for me.

Flooret has the Sylvan collection of true hardwood engineered plank. Collections - Silvan Hardwood - Flooret

@dan1888 That's a good point, and I've been going crazy trying to find one with minimal variation! I do like that it seems more like natural wood variation than the insane striping effect with other brands. I wish hardwood or engineered was in our budget or would fit our needs but not right now in this house (newer cookie-cutter neighborhood, everyone has LVP). Eventually when we find a heritage house to renovate it'll be wood all the way! :)

My problem is that you could not communicate with the installers, telling me they were not legal citizens of the US. This is a very big deal in the flooring industry, as more and more illegal immigrants, destroy the trades, where they are no longer respected and only thought of as a commodity. They should have not installed the cushion, if the carpet was not going to be covering it. The good thing is, any damage to the cushion, it can be fixed. If any food spills, you may get mold growth under your carpet, once installed.

I'm sorry if anyone thought my link was biased. I found that it gave a very upfront comparison of the 2 carpets' performance under various circumstances that may occur in any household. Additionally, Floortech gave multiple pros and cons for BOTH carpets--not just positives for 1 of them--and included warranty info. Bichonlover is correct in his statement on why Floortech had "changed his mind" on the Smartstrand based on postings here on GW. While I do not have both carpets in my home--just the Smartstrand--that's all I can comment on firsthand. Our carpet dealer did show us Shaw's competitive carpet to the Smartstrand and my preference was still for Smartstrand based on the softness factor as well as the stain properties being in the fiber vs. being applied like Shaw's. I don't see much on houzz about solidtech. I know there are other brands users here prefer but this brand/line have a color that I really like. I can't find many reviews online. Yes, we went with the Mohawk LVP Franklin in Jonesborough. We are still in the process of building so the floor is not installed yet. The flooring place gave us a box of the flooring so we put several planks together and have been looking at them over the past few months and still love it! I feel very good about our decision and look forward to when they put it down. Thanks for asking.

Budget is always a consideration. Sylvan is direct sale at 5.50/sqft. Solidtech is $3.71sqft. Modin Signature has a longer repeat and thick clearcoat at $4.50sqft.

@dan1888 Yes, exactly! We have 1,100 square feet to do, it adds up! Honestly wish I loved the look of their Signature when installed but the bevels just kill me. They’re so noticeable to me. I’m from Florida originally and all I see is wood look tile when LVP has a significant bevel. 😂🙈
