Thanks for the replies. I picked up a quart of BM's Rich Creme to test drive in the hallway. After paying for it, I thought of using some of the "Spool" paint from the offfice, cut it 50% with white, and try that, too. Southern Heart...Yes, I'm lost in the deep ox-blood red of my office. I do love it; but it will need tweaking sooner or later. It may morph into Bangkok Rust. (I'm originally-and-long-ago from the South, too! After 30 years of living in Texas, Delaware, Spain, Indiana, California, England, and North Dakota people still "hear" the southern in my voice...especially if I get upset.) Mairin...I bought a BH&G house and garden planning program last winter, loaded it in the computer, and promptly "lost" the disc in the remodeling mess. I am so hoping I find it soon. Shea...You got me thinking (not an easy task, LOL) that the pale grey might be a nice play off of the black and white bathroom, too. The real problem is there are simply too many choices when it comes to color!

It's hard to tell from yr picture where the hall bath ends. If it ends behind the toilet, with a nook on the other side, then I think if you just take out the stub of a wall and place a nice sideboard there instead, the hallway will shorten by a few feet. That would also be handy for coming and going in the garage, a place for keys, outgoing mail, etc. and provide a focal point for the eye, instead of the hallway. Unless you make major interior changes, that hallway will still be there. Solatubes, even just one in the middle of the hall, can make it feel much more open. That rug is fabulous and I love your other decor. I agree with you about not doing a bunch of little squares (art) ... especially with the glass design of your pretty front door. Too much repeat. I’d try a tall, narrow canvas or framed art for the left side, or a couple of colorful woven baskets for texture. Wall Baskets . On the right, something small and simple, like cute hooks, or key hooks, etc. Maybe a trio, if size permits.
