Add mantel and good large piece of art or mirror.

Consider not only the wall but the room‘s decor and windows, as they have a big influence as well (suggest rod above arch). Given what can be seen decor wise, thought you might like ideas below. Balance too little vs too much.

Adding slate around fireplace is another idea if you like modern, simple lines. It will also visually increase its size, so won’t feel as lost.

I have to agree with Kathleen---adding a mantle or art would give some depth and focus. Also, I love that you don't have the tv above the fireplace!

Your wall could be very interesting---right now, the modern fireplace contrasts with the Federal-style, Palladian windows with rosette trim. Maybe pick a style first---modern or Federal/traditional. What style do you like? This site leans contemporary, but there are other sites for other taste.

One can not bedazzle without irredescent penny tiles:

I added creme colored linen curtains ... they look more bright white.

Then a half round wooden mantle to again mimic the round lights and top of windows ... this could very easily have been white/creme or without the live edge.

Topped off with a collection of vases and a couple flower sprigs.

Iridescent is mighty fun, and I like the framing of the fireplace from floor to ceiling. I also like Maureen’s idea of woven shades squared off at the top to sort of hide the half moon shape of the windows and reflect the shape of the fireplace.

I think the fireplace needs a mantel at a normal mantel height….far enough from the fireplace to avoid the heat. My choice would be art above the mantel…something as wide as the fireplace opening. I would be inclined to frame the fireplace with some appropriate tile which works with your furnishings and a wider mantel in wood above the fireplace. Have the tile from the mantel down to the base molding, and surround the fireplace. I like a single drapery or shutter for each window, pulling off to one side except when you need privacy.

Think beyond ‘bedazzle’ and create an integrated wall-to-wall composition with basic carpentry built-ins. Consider your functional needs: fireplace mantle? TV wall? Storage, bookshelves, display? Pet bench? Kids toy box?
Start by drawing your blank canvas to scale (in elevation AND plan). This can be as simple as printing a photo of your wall and drawing over it. Every project great and small should have a visual plan, no matter how rough, that you and others can hold in their hands. The drawing(s) become your main communication tool. Don’t just talk and wave your hands! Have a plan! A visual plan…or elevation, or drawing.
Include in your drawing(s) only the existing major architectural and structural elements: the wall, fireplace box, windows, ceiling and floor. Remember…start with your ‘blank’ canvas, so delete from your drawings any existing add-one like the fireplace surround or mantle, window casing, crown moldings, baseboard, etc.
Then simply add your desired functional components. Keep it simple and remember to design the ENTIRE wall, building on it’s focus and function in the room. Use standard material sizes (for lumber, moldings, fixtures, etc.). Consider ready-built components that can easily be customized (Google ‘IKEA hacks’).
Only then should you add any extra fluff like moldings and trim to tie all the different elements together. And don’t forget color. Paint is cheap. And texture, and pattern. You can use standard building materials in unorthodox ways, like covering a vertical wall with inexpensive vinyl flooring.
That was a big jump from ‘bedazzle!’
