Nottingham Brass Sonoma faucet??? Anyone??
Comments (8)A couple of weeks ago I visited my mother who happens to live in Kentucky near where Signature Hardware has a showroom. My mom and I went over there to see for ourselves what was up with SH. I had already placed an order for lighting fixtures and lavatory faucets. I live in the deep south and they had already received the order but I wanted to see the place in person since I have many of the same questions you do. I must tell you the lady who helped me could not have been nicer. Her name is Beth if you need to call SH she is a wonderful person. She works Monday, Tues, Friday and Saturday. She helped me with my misgivings. I had chosen something that was on backorder which there is a lot of that going on now as everywhere I go they are hoarding their money and keeping inventory low so anyway, I chose another lighting fixture. It was so much less than the other one and I got it immediately. Nottingham Brass is the exclusive brand of SH so that is why you will not see it in any other store, it is only sold by SH. Maybe the same line is branded by others but I simply don't know the answer to that question. I was happy to see that they are all brass,I have two of the Deco faucets here now and they look fine. I was a little sad to see that the lever handles are a little fatter than they looked in the photo online. No one but me would notice this but my whole love affair with the faucet was the slim lever handle, the one that is a little fatter although exactly the same just gives it a whole different vibe. So I told Beth about my feelings regarding it and she said they would happily exchange it for me and sent me a RM number to send it back for another one of my liking. No problem. So my experience to pass on is that yes they are a real place, the people could not be nicer there, their things are most likely imports, Nottingham is their own brand so that is why unless you shop at SH you won't be able to find it. They don't sell any other brand of faucets. Their showroom is interesting and large with lots of neat pretty stuff. They seem eager to please and make right what you don't like. Their faucets are not plastic but are solid brass. They ship in a hurry and keep in touch when something is Out of Stock. Recommend.. Comments (15)I ended up doing this w/ my kitchen faucet about 6 months ago & I love it! I've been trying to find out how to post my pictures on here for y'all, but I can't figure it out. Sorry! Not very techy here! About a year or so ago, I'd seen a post on a designers blog where the girl unlacquered her kitchen faucet. Unfortunately, the blogs gone now but I have her pictures & what she said all about it. Both, the blogger & I, sent ours to someone that unlacquered them for us. She sent hers to a guy, I believe in San Francisco. The name of the place is The Sink Factory & the guy that did hers is named Ragnar. I sent mine to a metal guy here in Austin. You can reach him here & his name is Augustine. He wasn't real cheap, but for the price I paid for the faucet + his cost, it was still less than buying one that already has a live finish. This girl mentioned that she had gone around to a bunch of salvage places & found out that any lacquered brass can be stripped, even if it says "Lifetime Finish". The only prerequisite is that it has to be solid brass. She said the neck on her faucet was brass plate on copper, but Ragnar told her he could still do it. He told her not to use anything abrasive on it & not to polish it & it'll keep looking good. She said she cleans it every couple of weeks with non abrasive cleaners & that's it. Augustine said my neck was solid brass, but that surprised me because it was lighter than the main piece, so I don't really know. Just to be safe, I don't use anything abrasive on mine, either. I think I found the exact faucet that she had, on Overstock.com. It's still on there, here. It's so cheap, $290...but mine's dripping already, so what does that tell you about the quality! Now if I can just get it to stop dripping, it might be worth it! I have pictures of both, hers & mine, but again, I can't figure out how to post! It used to be so easy on old GW! :) I have a mac & have saved her pictures & mine as PDF's. I think that's the problem! Maybe I can try to figure it out tomorrow. Anyway, hopefully this will encourage you to go & do it too!...See MorePendant Search: solid brass, 3.25" fitter. Can anyone help?
Comments (8)You can make any number of pole pendants from their parts. They don't sell fixtures, they sell the parts to make your own fixtures, custom. Or to modify an existing fixture that uses standard threaded parts. These aren't pole pendants, but are fixtures I made from scratch from grandbrass parts: (the vintage glass globes were ebay) To make pendants, you just add the appropriate length and finish down rod to the parts mixture (which they sell)....See MoreHelp with faucet please! Comments (12)I have had my Danze about 18months and it has worked very well. I had a problem the first day - needed to remove and clean the aerator a few times in the first 24 hours - I think there may have been some debris from the manufacture process. Since then no problems and the sprayer is solid metal. I have the single handle to reduce wet hands dripping on the counter, but I believe it comes in a bridge style. My Danze Opulence: https://www.houzz.com/photos/my-pics-work-in-progress-phvw-vp~58831076 Here is the bridge style. https://www.amazon.com/Danze-D404457BS-Opulence-Handle-Kitchen/dp/B01AUS9D2C/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1506724882&sr=8-20&keywords=danze%2Bopulence%2Bfaucet&th=1 I think it is pretty and I almost got it but decided I was tired of needing two hands to turn on the faucet and was warned about wet hands dripping around faucets directly mounted to a countertop causing puddles. That is why my handle is over the sink. I have seen bridge faucets with lever handles mounted so the handles were over the sink and I turned it a bit to the left out of personal preference....See MoreBumblebeez SC Zone 7
