I need ideas for exterior paint project please

I am painting my house and need some help PLEASE. I somewhat like the pale yellow main color but need help deciding on trim and accent colors if I do decide to leave the yellow.

Any suggestions on an entirely new color palette would be great too.

I honestly can't see the house for all the overgrowth . You will need to clean up that landscaping in order to paint and why a differnt color of trim thatn what you have .It certainly looks like a ranch except for that odd little peak on the right . What is the purpose of that ?It looks like the odd man out so what is it a different color and style . The stone is interesting but hard to get a feel for where it is.What style of houses do you like ? I did go to your idea books but nothing to give me any idea of the style of house you like. This could be a nice ranch style out in the country . It could with some work go in the MCM direction . So we need info from you

I like the yellow color? Do you know what Its called and by whom. I am looking to paint my house too in a pale creamy yellow.

Wow, I'm amazed by all the helpful ideas and comments! It took me a while today just to process everything - thank you, everyone, so much! I went to the local nursery today and bought some morning glory seeds to run up the front posts. Roobear - I LOVE the drawing you did!! And I love the look of those front posts; they are definitely going on the "wish" list if we can fit them in the budget, maybe for next summer. For now, we're going with some vines. Thank you so much for taking the time to do that picture; it really made me see the possibilities! Did I mention I LOVE it?! I'll either do a trellis around the meter box, or possibly get a nice tree to plant on the other side of the walk to hide it from the street, as rosie suggested. We dug down around the concrete walk tonight, and it goes down several inches...too far to break up with just a sledgehammer - we tried. So, instead of going through the expense and hassle of moving the walk, I think we'll just have to leave it. I'm also going to get a tree of some kind to place on the opposite side of the house (left side when facing from the street), and expand the front garden out and circle around it. Hopefully that will give some dimension to the front. I also love the red door in roobear's pic. I would not have chosen red if I hadn't seen that visual; it's nice how it makes the door a focal point. Thank you all again - in two days you gave me more ideas here than I've come up with in a year. I'll try to post some pics once we put things together!

What kind of hinges do I need for this project idea that I have ?

Thank you so much for these ideas and the technical terms ! I wasn't even sure what to google other than 'hinge' which returns a bazillion results, lol. Yes, inboard of the pivot point is the problem I was trying to explain. If I have to overlay the excess not centered to the opening, I will. But that takes my mirror further to the left than I wanted to be (hinge will be on the right). Ideally, the excess would be to the right, on the same side as the hinge, with just a little overlay on the left. When I googled 'overlay partial wrap hinge', I also found these hinges. I think the plate would have to be mounted on the face of the sheetrock, with longer screws that would go thru the sheetrock and screw into the studs, but would these work ??? The reason I ask, is because I am not sure what material the frame of the mirror is made from and also if it is deep enough to allow me to drill the cup. Lateral hinges I think would not work, for the same reason as the drawer glides mounted sideways - I don't *think* there would be enough room. We're down at the beach house right now (our last guest broke the side rail on one of the bunk beds and we're here fixing it, no idea what they were doing to break the rail lengthwise all the way from end to end!! kids jumping on the bed I would guess), but I can measure for that idea when we get home tomorrow.

^I like the color combos above with your brick. I also like the front door that apple green surrounded by white. The gray siding would go nicely with your roof and brick. I would use the gray on all of your siding excluding the brick (naturally). Paint your garage door the same gray so it recedes. Consider substantially trimming back your landscaping before you paint so you can see the house.

The "free" mockups are usually for people without a PRO designation. If you need a mockup the expense should have been part of the business plan for your renovation. Did you get a quote from Celery? Was it too expensive?

I would paint the whole house White, including the trim, BM Super White

remove the shutters, and paint the front door a color you love...

I would choose a bright Cobalt Blue.

Yes I think a big cleanup of the landscaping - it just sort of seems like things put in the ground without much of a plan? I would also remove everything in the yard and on the house and then see. I like Lyn's color suggestions. Maybe consider a slightly creamy white so it's not so stark against the pretty stone? You could do cream and then a door maybe in caponata or another eggplant shade? Or a deep cranberry?

Thank you all so much. This is actually my mothers house so my idea book’s probably wouldn’t be very beneficial. This house is very much a ranch style home. Sitting on 1000’s of acres of pasture land with a 100 year old barn’s all over the property. My mother loves to mix styles. Victorian/Southwest/Rustic mix which makes my head hurt trying to help her with colors. She has mentioned blues/yellows/grays with a creamy trim. If we leave the yellow (I am not sure of the color, it’s been 20 years since she last painted), used a creamy off white trim, would a natural stained wood (she mentioned cypress or pine) look ok on the porch columns?
