Has Electrolux solved their Wall Oven Control Panel Problem?
Comments (40)Ya know, they were lucky, as I recall, you gotta have a funny like key thingie to remove the oven from the cabinet as I recalls, and I haven't the foggiest notion where mine is (removal Key). I best finds that succer, practice how to use it, and then put it where I know where it is! If the oven was off, when this happened, it should be reported to the proper safety committee, if it was off, "Your call", myself I might wait to see what Electrolux has to say, but if it turned itself on, then that's pretty serious! I had a cooktop, (Not Electrolux & not induction) that turned itself full on one nite and scared the *&%#@% (well you know), out of me! The company that made it went belly up, or I would have reported it. Gary...See Moredaughter has a friend with learning dissability
Comments (8)Thanks popi, your dead right, It is brutal out there. My kids are only 5 and 3 ,so dont really understand her behaviour ,to everybody else she is just a naughty, nasty girl, beleive me she is very clever and sometimes I Honestly beleive she knows what she is doing, like I have been listening ,when she doesnt know I Am ,and she will be wispering to my kids to do naughty things, like draw on the walls, tip water over the floors, ect,If she didnt know what she was doing why wisper?Or If she has lied ,and another child as got in trouble she does a crafty smirk,I used to feel sorry for her, but just lately its hard to ,when you see the things she does,She was only diagnosed with it about a month ago, wrongly I suspect, but her mother has talked about it soo much in front of her ,its like shes playing on it.As for the friendship with her mother, she befriended me,I Never wanted it,I Guess I Made her too welcome,She is not my cup of tea ,suffers with depression, and I Cant bear to be around a depressed person all the time,Its draining. My daughter will play with her without other friends, but It can never be one to one because My son is there and he plays too, so Its just a matter of time untill one of mine gets bit, or punched. On Sunday, mother texts to say "can daughter play with mine on her own",I said yes ,but resented her for putting me In that position, anyways all was okish,I went to tesco, left them all with my partner, partner let other kids play whilst I was out,so again there was trouble. Then the next day ,My eldest daughter, who has this mother as a friend on facebook, showed me her statuses. They were all about me.Its made me pretty fuming.I guess after reading this back I have answered my own question.I dont think Im the person to deal with these people, thanks for letting me rammble on....See MoreReimagining a Tricky Soho Loft Kitchen. Need a Kitchen Island! :)
Comments (52)I think this is a real puzzle. I too don't know the answers. I just have more thoughts. I know you asked about your kitchen but you whole apartment could work better. Since you really only need a half bath on the main floor for guests, I would take over some or all of that bath to expand your master bath and closet. Close the door to give you more wall space and change the access door to your bedroom. The laundry could be part of that or moved to the old kitchen location or the half bath could move to the old kitchen spot. You could also leave the toilet, vanity and door there for the half bath and just expand to the area where the tub is. You say it's just 2 of you and a dog now but hope for a little one. Since your storage space in the lofted space is over the main bath I would add a full bath above it. The small bedroom there could be an ensuite. Good for guests now and a child later. You have an awful lot of seating for 2 people. How often do you need dining for 10+? would the space dedicated to it be better used for something else? Look for a small table that could expand and shorten the island. When space is limited how it functions is even more important. If you entertain a lot maybe the kitchen is most important....See MoreNoise problem solution needed
Comments (33)You will need to find the noise abatement requirements for YOUR city (the one's I listed are for Vancouver BC, Canada). You will need this document to use as a starting point. If you really want to go this route, you will be putting money up front which might come back to you at a later time...it might not. Once you have CONFIRMATION that your city ordinances SPECIFICALLY require a noise abatement assessment/building construction that REQUIRES all buildings of YOUR construction (we still don't know what type of building, how many stories, etc) you can move ahead to the next step. With this type of document (city building ordinances for your type of building) you can then REQUIRE the condo board to investigate your recordings. They may not. If they do not, let them know that you will arrange for an in-unit acoustic recording (called a Field Test or F-STC/F-IIC recording). This requires access to your upstairs neighbor's space for the professional recording. An acoustic company will come in and use a tapping machine in the neighbor's unit (on different surfaces but generally on the floor). Directly below the tapping machine, they will place their microphone on the floor of your unit. Measurements (much like yours) will be made and a document including full scientific documentation (thickness of subfloors, flooring material, underlayment, ceiling construction, pot lights - if any - etc). You will pay for their services (as much as a couple thousand dollars) and you will then be free to pursue the matter as you see fit. Personally I would get a QUOTE from an acoustic company and use that to persuade the condo board to pay for it out of their budget. If they won't pay for it, you want it in writing that they will COMPENSATE YOU should the recordings indicate the building (your unit) FAILS the city ordinance requirements. Be VERY aware this could end up costing every single person in the building a 'special budget' project. Imagine what would happen if you are correct...and the units do NOT meet the ordinance requirements. It isn't just your unit that will be affected. Every single unit in the building *might require investigation (imagine a few thousand dollars per unit to investigate the entire building). At the end of it, the association decides to pay for noise mitigation in all the units...one at a time. As they become available on the market. It is possible a retrofit could cost $10 - $15/sf for CEILING work. It gets more expensive if they also require under-flooring work as well. Please be VERY aware of the consequences. This is a can of worms that could get bigger, and slimier and nastier and bring about the intense dislike of people you need to live with and around for many years to come. This is Pandora's Box. And I don't mean the cutesy mall outlets that sell cheap bling....See MoreNeed2SeeGreen 10 (SoCal)
