Seems like wall color could also be BM white dove.

I might look at Revere Pewter to give a little subtle contrast. Such a nice neutral.

So should it be white dove egg shell? And what about base boards? I need the babe boards to be easy for cleaning.

I prefer semi-gloss for trim, matte for walls and flat for ceilings. Other people prefer other variations. I would also paint the kitchen walls in the same White Dove color.

white subway tile, not off white. Lighting always dulls down the color, and the stuff Life adds to the kitchen. Start out clean and crisp.

I didn’t know that about the subway tile. I thought the white would clash next to white dove because it’s not stark white.

I have White Dove trim throughout my house and love it. It reads as a crisp white. I've painted two bedrooms in Revere Pewter with White Dove trim and it's really pretty.

I would do the trim in same color as cabinets and do the walls in a more saturated neutral like revere pewter or agreeable gray

Try Simply white on the trim/baseboards (satin or semi gloss) Walls (I like eggshell) try one of these warmer griege tones. I used Light Pewter on my kitchen walls

If you want to try some actual color, go w/some greens

for the lighting, you may want to get something w/o the diffuser. use LED bulbs in the 4000K temp range

do a nice pendant over the sink and lose the mini blind for something warmer. like a woven wood

I like the idea of changing the lighting over the sink-I never thought of that. Right now it’s looks like a bunch of flat LED lights. Little tiny ones. I’ve never seen that before.

The BM Light Pewter is a beautiful shade, doesn't seem to lean into either a pale blue or greenish-gray.

I’ll give it a look. That’s one thing I almost despise is when it leans blue and green.

I also tried Pale Oak, but it didn't work in my space. Classic Gray is also nice. and BM Sea Salt is another option

I have to post the other side of the room. I’m worried abt the color looking too gray where there is less light. We don’t have recess lighting.

I’m making the space more warm and getting rid of a few things.

What’s wrong with your present backsplash tile? I like it but if you are going with darker wood I guess subways but I would put a hint of warmth there.

Yes, White Dove can look quite yellow in some spaces. Your lack of lighting isn't helping.

Yes my lighting is def an issue.

I def want to warm the space up a bit but I don’t know how. These are our countertops that are coming in a couple days. It’s not a very good picture but it is a bit warmer in person.

It will all come together well. Take time picking the wall paint. Get big samples and look at them in different light. I think 3500k is a good bulb temp without being cold. Then get some pretty wood trays or cutting boards to accessorize and warm everything up.

white dove is a dingier white. I painted my walls w/it and hated it. Went over it w/Simply White. way better.

You also need to update your bulbs. try some LED in the 3500-4000K temp range. looks like you have 2500-3000K, which is pretty yellow

Okay. I changed the dining area because I was okay if with the lighting. The area by the cabinets has some tiny little bulbs that it looks like I can’t change. Lol it looks like a mother board lol

is that the undercabinet lighting? that looks ok.

are you happy w/the ceiling lights while preparing food?

I’m content with it because the lighting is right above the food prep areas.
I hand under cabinet lighting. Things are a mess because we are getting work done. I’m supposed to buy paint tomorrow but just not sure what color to get. On the kitchen side it the lighting isn’t too bad. On the other side I def have changes to make. And I def don’t want my cabinets to look too yellow.

it looks like you have some decent lighting. the bulbs appear to be a brighter, cooler white.

you could get some LED light strips or under cabinet lighting. I leave mine on 24/7

I actually have this one in my hallway. Bergamot 18". I have 3-100W (led) bulbs. you can land a plane w/the light this puts out!

white dove is more 'dingy gray' than yellow, so don't worry about that.

If white dove is the whitest white in the room, you will be fine. If anything else is whiter, white dove will look dingy

that's good. you shouldnt decide until the cabs are all finished and the new countertop is installed. (and white subways are just blah. the 3x6 one. if you want a 2x10 size, hand made look, that's fine, but there are tons of other options)

Hold off on the backsplash tile. You need everything else in there first. Having a painted backsplash for a year or more is not a sin. The right lighting changes how tiles look - big time.

Understood. Right now we have a white and gray mosaic tile that is very cool. I will wait to see how it looks next week. Painting and granite is Wednesday.
