Comments (6)I have callirhoe involucrata alba, hesperis matronalis variegata and oenothera Blood Orange. I'd be interested in the hellebores and the clematis. Comments (3)I am trying these seeds and I sowed them last January, left 2 weeks at 70F, and then I put them in the refrigerator around the end of January. I took them out of the refrigerator today, and this is how the tray looks like as I opened the baggy: The little seedlings actually are not Monkshood, but they are Jacob's Ladder seedlings that I planted in one of the 9 cells and they survived in the dark of the refrigerator for almost 2 months!!! What concerns me are thos white moldy spots because I think I have lost some seeds here. I have 70F in my apartment and I definitely would not want my place to be left at 50F, so I will have to see if they can germinate at this temperature. Outside it gets high 50s in the night and low 80s during the day. Would it be better if I leave the tray outside? I hope I will have at least one plantlet!!! I'll keep you posted. Comments (3)1. Sunset does say that they are adapted to zones 14-21 (along with the colder zones). They also state that they are difficult to establish where summers are dry and hot. They list two species Aconitum napellus and A. carmichalii. 2. They go dormant here in fall and don't come back (if at all) until spring. Not something we appreciate in California gardens. 3. I grew both species, and others, when I lived in Northern Wisconsin and they were a couple of my best perennials. 4. They are deadly poisonous. With three "spirited children of 3 and 6", I'd be VERY careful. 5. I doubt if you could find them locally. 6. We have hundreds of blue-flowered perennials and bulbs that really like our climate here. Many with interesting flowers. Joe...See Moreken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5
