@ livebetter The HE version is not available in Cool Cotton, just Renewing Rain. I didn't like the scent at first either, it had funky and musty undertones. However, the last two bottles I've gone through have smelled much nicer- more flowery. I wonder if a bad batch of this stuff just made it through the supply chain, or maybe storing it under certain conditions causes the scent to change? Here is what I've noticed after using Tide HE Total Care after several washings. Fabrics feel more substantial - almost heavier - and fibers appear refreshed and less aged. I have also noticed deeper color returning to my dark washables that previously appeared slightly faded. There is definitely something to this product when it comes to keeping clothes looking their best. While the effects are noticeable after a single washing, you'll really start noticing the changes after washing several times. Two throw blankets that I've recently started washing in Tide HE w/ Bleach have come back to life. I used to wash these items in Charlie's Soap and various other green or natural products, which has taken its toll. The white areas are dingy grey and the colors appear to have faded. A few washings in Tide HE w/ Bleach has restored the white areas and made the colored areas more vibrant. Darker colors on the blanket also appear richer, perhaps due to the improved contrast when compared to the white areas. For those who have experienced unsatisfactory results with their green and natural products, there's still hope! Wash your items in a good quality detergent like Tide HE and a potent fabric softener like Downy and you will see your fabrics come back to life.

LoL Sparky..yes some of us get to involved lol. I wouldn't have to do overnight soaks, but with a 6&7 yo grandsons ( I'm raising) there's always juice, koolaid, pizza, and numerous other crud on their clothes that I have to do long soaks. Than my 34 yo son likes to drop clothes off once in a while that lord are so dingy they need to go in a rag bag. Little story..my son dropped off a bunch of stained and brownish grey white tank tees ( wife beaters) that he works in, anyway I soaked for a week in hot water, biz, and tide/ bleach changing the water ect 2 times a day, when I was done they were gleaming white...a few days ago I seen him and ask why he was working in one of his good tees he said ** mom I don't know which ones are work shirts anymore they all look the same** I think this is one reason I am obsessed with laundry, its a challenge, and at my age I don't have many challanges...lol

I smelled the Thai Dragon Fruit in the store once - it smells nothing at all like actual dragon fruit, which has a very light scent. :( My roomate bought some original scent Gain liquid a few months ago and it didn't rinse very well. Towels would also get this nasty air-freshener scent when they got wet. I wouldn't have bought it because I've always hated the scent. (Didn't even notice that it was different lol) I don't think it cleans as well as Wisk, and the target store brand liquid also seems to clean and rinse better and is cheaper than gain.

I'm not against FL'ers Alex, never have been. Oh I've ask a few questions, very few, but don't believe I've ever said anything about them. You both touched on something I've mentioned before...laundry practices. Pure and simple. It wouldn't matter if you have the best machine, its completely worthless if you don't know the first thing about good laundry practices. Long before the automatic washer or the wringer..when laundry was done in a tub...textiles were clean because they knew the proper way of doing it. The nobility did not do their laundry in the river, oh no, they were judged by their household textiles, if they were dingy, stained, wrinkly, they, well actually the Mrs. Or Madam quickly got a bad reputation as being lazy and dirty. Many hours were spent doing laundry over a cook fire in boiling water and household linen was spread out in the fields for the sun to whiten...if things could pass the test of cleaniness back than with no machine just a knowledge of laundry practices than they certainly can today regardless the machine being used. We all here have automatic machines and we all have knowledge of how to properly wash our clothing and we all have clean clothes, if we are applying our knowledge.. now there have been a few cold water people that I have my doubts..no machine is cleaning that body oils out of those sheets in cold water..point is cold water is not part of good laundry practices, nor will that fine machine be much help if your using cold water.... You all see how easily it is to sidetrack me...is it her age, or was she born with it LOL
