Good morning. A slow start for me. Someone tore up my craft room last night and now I have to go and straighten it up again. So is life. Show me some Lakesides to brighten my day.

Comments (32)I agree and UtOG your LPPs looks great for being two year olds. It was one of my first purchases at a local Hosta farm (now retired). I mentioned the plant was a little small hoping for a discount. Nope, no discounts . . . but we will sell you two for one! Happy Dayz (no, that was from a different, but nearby place). Turns out those plants are small for a reason. They grow s l o w l y. At least for me. Still just two single eyes planted in 2016 but the leaves are bigger. Perhaps I will pot one up this year after beating it against the driveway. Chatterbox is new for me last year. I started it in a pot before putting it in the ground later in the year. With my luck, it won't look this big again for many years. Color Blue finally starting to increase. Planted in 2018 but it does throw up some nice looking seedlings. Dividing Line planted 2019. Spellbinder split from a cramped pot and planted in 2019. Dragonfly by June planted in 2018 and moved a couple times. Full Tide split from a full pot in 2018 and never missed a beat at the top of a little hill between two maples in the shade. One of my favorite Lakesides. Another good one for me. Keepsake - lost the middle of the clump to rot or some varmint but it keeps chugging on. Planted in 2018 - now with dinner salad. Midnight Miss planted in 2018. I really like Symphony which does OK in a tough spot, planted in 2019. My favorite is Old Smokey which was greatly diminished by the maple tree roots. Planted in 2016. Rescued in 2020. Comments (32)Lots of great photos. Of course I love the Tokudama Aureo. Lakeside Prophecy Fulfilled is also a favorite of mine, glad you included a picture of yours. Over the years we lost 4 or 5 dogwood trees and now only have one that was transplanted to the rear of our lot. Our clay soil cannot be amended enough to allow the dogwoods to grow properly and no matter how big the hole we had dug for them and how much top soil we used, as soon as the dogwood roots hit the clay that was it. In the last 2-3 years, the gray squirrels have pushed out all of the reddish brown ones we used to have. The gray squirrels can climb any bird feeder pole, no matter how many baffles we put on them--I finally have taken to coating the poles with vaseline to keep them off. They eat all of the bird seed, peanuts, etc. Then when they are done with that they start digging in my pots of hostas and annuals. Doesn't matter what time of year that it is, they dig and throw out the plants. They are pests and destroy lots of plants. I don't have any toad lily blooms yet--yours are very pretty. Lakeside Cha Cha - a VERY slow grower for me
Lakeside Dragonfly - pretty in the spring but ratty later in the season. I wonder if I put it in a sunnier spot it would grow better?

2 months agoSo good Paula. Well there are so many lovely LS's but I have to say Saija Prophecy & Prophecy Fulfilled are outstanding. I have some to get planted. Midnight Miss, Tee Ki, Zesty Zeno, Old Smokey, Spellbinder that I remember. Mary was a busy lady.

2 months agoI am envious of those of you who have multiple Lakesides. I only have one, new last year, LS Banana Bay. Hope Hopefully,if it’s tet as hosta_maker says, it will do well for me.
Here it is with a bit of burn adjusting to it’s new home. Rocks are to discourage squirrels digging.

2 months agolast modified: 2 months agodebra my Banana Bay is several years old. It's a slow grower for me but if it is a tet like hosta- maker thinks, that would explain a lot to me. Tets don't do well on the whole in my garden because of my soil (heavy clay), but would do great in a pot for me. Maybe I'll pot it up this spring.

They do well for me, need to take better pics next year.
I love Lakesides because they like a piece of art, each one of them.

last monthI have been having computer problems so I stopped posting photos. The computer I am now using is very small. I will have to go back and look at all the alphabet when I get my own computer back.
Paula, I should try canning soup that way. Much faster! The ostrich on the board is cool!
Since it more difficult for me to post pictures, I will just post the one that I did not see on this thread.
Lakeside Love Affaire. I have two of them. They don't melt out for me.
