kgsd that's funny because I have found hardly any like the one I posted! It becomes more challenging because I'd like a brushed nickel to match the sink faucet, but I have found only chrome and white so far. I looked on the Kohler and Moen websites and on faucet.com and designerplumbingoutlet.com. I think the challenge is that so many pictures only show the showerhead itself, and not how it attaches to the wall and water source. (Even when I look at the install guide.) I will take a look at the store websites you mention to see what I can find. (And I suppose I should get my lazy self out to look at them in person!) buyorsell let me know if you find one, and I'll post if I find a good one too. socalgrl, Thanks for your reply. We are also the exact same heights so I would take your advice but...apparently, I have the world's dumbest plumber. He kept telling me that the shower shelf was adjustable and could go anywhere on the bar so yesterday, I pulled the whole thing out and played with it to see how to put it together (the same one you have) and the shelf HAS to be on the bottom like the picture. Now I have a problem-grrr. He mounted the elbow 4 inches below the valve and if I lower the bar, the hose will run over the shelf. As it is now, there is only one way to mount the bar and the height is going to be too tall for even dh at 6'2". I am about to cry. So the shelf will be directly below the valve/plate/handle to turn on the water and above the elbow for the hose and that puts the bottom of the bar 40 some inches from the shower floor-ack! I wanted to be able to flip the head over to be able to use the spray at least on my lower back. (I love this thing and how it flips!) I think I will try and take some pictures and see if anyone here can help me figure it out. The painter comes tomorrow so I still have a few days. Thanks again!

Your contractor bought the wrong thing. That is not how you design an installation with multiple outputs. You have a single valve that switches between the multiple uses. You also need to get the thermostatic valve, not pressure balancing. It is not going to have the capacity for a fast tub fill either because what you want is usually done in a shower only situation. Not a tub shower. Your professional supply house can help you sort this out. It is unprofessional, to say the least, to tell you to go buy things when you don't have a clue as to what is needed. But, he doesn't either. A rain shower in a tub is asking for trouble. Water damage and splashing everywhere. Which is why the proper waterproofing Sophie is asking about is so important. As well as the doors to contain the water. Tile and grout are not waterproof. Neither is cement board. You need a separate step. Your posts contain some red flag questionable descriptions of work that need to be resolved before you let your contractor touch anything else. You need to examine your contractor much closer.
