Comments (12)You have a wonderful modern prairie style house. Why don't you do a Google, Houzz, or Pinterest search on the style? Putting various add ons is going to result in what's called a remuddle. Get a new garage door along the lines of what's been suggested, a new front door, golden taupe trim, then hire a landscape designer to help you with a new walkway. Your house will look amazing and not a remuddle mish mash. Everybody's telling you the same thing--that your house is already modern looking and just needs tweaks, not a bunch of expensive add-ons. P.S. The curtains in the windows are bringing down the whole front of the house. Get golden bronze solar shades that you can put up or down. It's often suggested to have dramatic oversized houseplants in windows like yours, which link the outdoors to the indoors and add huge dramatic impact. Think about that instead of the droopy drapes....See MoreSplit Level exterior remodel help

Comments (18)I recommend that you check out what you can do to reveal the brickwork and stonework around your windows and setbacks. I don't know what can be scraped off, but I don't think ornamental shutters will look good on top of them. A fiberglass fabricator could probably embellish the columns in several ways, including providing squared off caps and footings Actually moving them needs to be checked out carefully for structure support, which I presume you know. I still don't favor moving the columns to create a wide opening. In the part of the world where I live (New England) a wide columned portico is almost an iconic logo for a senior living facility, as directional as the MacDonald's arch If it isn't so where you live, don't worry about it. I quite like the idea of creating a balcony, and for that money, I'd make it so I could use it, with double doors leading out to it and safe support underneath. (I think I'd skip the ground level railings and maybe increase the size of the oval window.) But it would be a good investment I think....See MoreExterior Remodel Advice Needed
Comments (6)The first thing to decide is if the stone is staying, because all other colors must blend with it, if it’s staying. (There’s an option of changing the color of the stone by using a special paint designed for that; one brand is Romabio.) Is the roof staying in its current color? IMO, the current siding color clashes with the stone. Yes, I can see a few stones that are that color, but the predominant stone coloring is gold/orange/tan/beige. Warm colors. The existing gray is cold....See Morecpartist
