Bryan, The lotus are not blue at all. They are really a warm color. Everyone things they are halogens. I think you won't regret the fan and i don't think it will cool your room quickly. Since you are in Canada, our frozen neighbor to the north, did you consider underfloor heating for the bathroom? This is one thing I will definitely do when I remodel my bathroom. Regarding the fan and lights for that matter, it is so frustrating that there is no where to go to see these things in operation and you have to take a risk to order them without the possibility of return in many cases to determine if this is what you really want! Just a general rant and I live in a major metropolitan area but it is almost impossible to see these items. I had a similar issue recently with outdoor light fixtures that I just had to order on faith and had no idea what they really looked like. At $200 a piece, it was a huge gamble but it ended up being what I wanted. At least these decisions are made and you are on the next thing! Did you get the godmogon cabinet? Also, did you see the Maestro timer switches for the fan? Maestro Timer Switches - I have these and really like them. You also have an option of the humidity switches which turn on when the humidity reaches a certain level and Panasonic sells those too. They are not as pretty as the Maestro but are very functional.

So ensuite or en suite is very clearly a British term (with French origin) and used in NA more commonly in Canada. It doesn't mean that Americans don't know what it means but the only reason I do is because of the Canadian origin on much of HGTV. Well - ok - maybe from travel to Europe before that. Where I live it hasn't become a common term. The fact is that pools are more common in warmer climates. Doesn't mean they don't exist of course in Canada but was trying to make an educated guess - house has pool using a British/French term - I would go with Bahamas or Aus. And - are we calling Southern Idaho warm? Back to the original question - the 4th bedroom will never have a toilet? I am confused because in one line you say ensuite means all 3 parts but then you say just vanity and shower is on the table. In the US, it would be a little unusual which is generally not good for resale value. Many people get up in the middle of the night to use the toilet. Having to go into a public area to do that (the hall) is not ideal if they are modest. But if that is already done, then it would still be helpful to have the shower in the suite but it would add a little to the "unusual" nature. So from a resale point of view, I would keep things as normal as they can be. Now - are in you in AUS or are you Australian? Clarity is helpful. Because resale in AUS - no idea. There are probably parts of the US that unusual is no big deal. In my area, it is a big deal.

Your sketch dimensions are a bit confusing. In the first one, it looks like the rooms were drawn with 6" per squares, but then the hall doesn't follow that. The second one appears to have a scale of 2' per square and does seem more in proportion, but both are missing a number of dimensions and aren't drawn precisely enough to guess. If you give the dimensions for everything that needs to stay (so exterior walls, plumbing you don't intend to move, etc.), we can try to help you with configuration options. Remember that walls have a thickness ... Bathrooms can be added on a slab, but it requires planning and trenching into the slab to lay the plumbing, so I can understand why you might want to avoid that. It would be helpful to know which parts are on the slab more precisely than the back vs. the front, particularly since I would have thought where you initial suggesting adding the small bath would be in the back ... suzanne, I think what you're referring to is the door between the two rooms.

Given that it's not actually a jack-and-jill then I'd just pick one of the two door options and ditch the other. (I'd choose the one opening to the bedroom, but either works.) Agreed that 24" isn't enough space between the shower and vanity even if it's technically to code--we will have 30" and even that feels tight. And would definitely try to get the laundry out of there if this is part of a larger living space. Depending on what's happening on the other side of the wall on the right, you might be able to open the laundry space up to that room in a closet, or otherwise place it somewhere that's not right next to the toilet. It would probably help to see the whole floor plan (and maybe what is there now, too).
