I'm not sure what all the reasons are, but I am feeling the stress. We are in the trim stages of our house (this is our third build) and this one has been the worst. Part of it is our builder; part of it is my age (don't ask--but I did hit the half century mark last year), part is the length of time it takes to build (I don't do big projects well), and then there are all the decisions AND the consequences of the decisions. And, no matter how hard you try, you are almost always over budget. Just yesterday my trim carpender showed my master closet (DH has his own), and I almost fainted. It was much too small and I just hadn't anticipated how much space would be taken after the trim was in. So, now we are considering knocking out the outside wall (walk out basement, so it will have to be an overhang over the basement) to make the closet bigger. We are down sizing about 400 sq. ft. and already the laundry, pantry and mudroom feel too small. I think my DH knew that the closet was the last straw (he is the one really wanting to downsize). I actually think I have had chest pains this week (surely just stress). We haven't taken a day off since Christmas--always doing something on one of the houses (oh, did I mention--our other house is one the market as well). So, there ya have it--didn't mean to dump on you guys--but since you brought it up--thought I would add my two cents. And stress is cumulative--so, it's time to get some relief and be finished with this build!! And, I would hire someone to help. Doesn't always have to be someone who is trained professionally. I have a "real" designer, (95.00 an hour) and a decorater (35.00 and hour). I only use the designer when I want help with cabinet design etc. My other girl can help with color choices and floor cordination etc. Just a thought.

This reminds me of when I had DS in the car seat on the kitchen counter. He was 5 months old. I was standing in front of him feeding him rice cereal. I backed away TWO STEPS to the refrigerator and he arched his back and the car seat tipped forward and he slid out- right onto the kitchen floor like a burial at sea. I was in a panic. He cried like crazy for the first 5 minutes or so then got really quiet. Like he was falling asleep. I was home alone with him at the time and I freaked out. Kept thinking his little brain was bleeding or swelling or something awful, so I called 911. They sent the cops AND and ambulance but when the cops got here he perked right up the little stinker. Took him over to the ER anyway just to be sure, but boy I was a wreck. Felt like the worst mother on the planet. Just this week my 2 1/2 yo DD ran full speed smack into the dining room buffet thing. Hit it so hard it knocked her back on her behind. It actually put a crease in her skin on her forehead. Scared the wits out of me It it totally awful when your baby gets hurt. Thanks God they seem to be made of rubber sometimes. BTW, the ER doc said unless they "loose consciousness", it's usually fine. Also check their pupils. If they're equal in size and they react to light, that's another good sign. But that throwing up thing would have scared me, too.

Honestly, I think the Buttermilk is a little too yellow for your honey colored cabinets. It's also the same type of pattern as your floor tile. I would use the Caesarstone Chocolate Truffle as it will tie your cabinets together with the floor, having both the rich honey tones and the lighter beige tones of your floor tiles. I think it's a better fit and adds a bit more pattern and punch.

Oh cat mom funny story that you can relate to.. I was desperate to make pizza since I hadn't had it in 2 years !! during this escavation, I mean renovation. I put the (heavy)pizza stone on the counter(Soapstone). BIG MISTAKE. My cat has discovered how to climb from a windowsill to this counter. I never had a windowsill before so this is a big adventure for her (when I close the blinds/window and she has no interest so it's not like she's on the counter all the time). Well I went out and came back to find the pizza stone in 4 pieces on the floor. She must have flew through the air like on a snow sled as the stone slid across the smooth SS counter. She denied it of course. I made the pizza on a baking sheet, it came out delicious and all were happy. But she did have a guilty look all night. I wish I had a video of it. What a sight that must have been.
