If that drop is starting out at Lake Itasca in Minnesota I would guess at least 2 months maybe more. I have pictures of my siblings and I walking across the MS river at the headwaters when I was about 5. It's just a shallow stream.

It depends what the drop was from. If it was from a mixed drink, it will take longer because the drop will keep bumping into the riverbank. If it was a teardrop from a breakup, it will keep having to hide in a pool and collect itself. If it was a drop of sweat from Usain Bolt, it will get there fast, very fast. If it was a hi class drop of perrier it might get scooped up and travel by BMW and rejoin its fellow drops at the finish line. Whether the winning drop would be from honest sweat or a cheat ride due to money and class depends on your world view, I suppose.

Sorry, jasdip, but I'm not buying the onion answer. I looked on line and I can't find a source that confirms that answer. Rather I see lots of information including chemical analysis that shows there are different varieties of onions each with their own distinct flavors and sugar contents...think vidalia vs. red vs. yellow...or even how mild shallots are with their hint of garlic. I know whenever there is raw onion in a salad as I'm tasting it for days later. I'm not smelling it...though maybe others are. (Just another benefit of masking up??)
