kids room Organizing the Home Design Dilemma

Help with Nursery Design, haven't done anything yet.

Hi all. I'm looking for suggestions and advice on making this room into a nursery. This is a bed room converted into a closet room. But I would like to convert this back to a nursery. Was thinking of using some of these closet space for the baby. Due in April. But I can't figure a layout. What do you'll think. Help please. Thank you!!

It‘s hard to get a sense of the room (size, door entries etc) with just these wall photos - can you post a photo of the room from the doorway and some measurements?

We need to see pics of all of the walls, along with room dimensions - hard to tell if a crib/changing table will fit into the room as currently configured. What are the depth of the drawers? If possible, I'd remove the upper cabinets and make the top a changing table. And for sure, take out the shelving to the right as you enter the door.

I have a Hagley Hybrid thats at least 7 years old that never returned and shows no signs yet either. I am not digging it up, however, as I had a similar thing happen to a couple of other clematis a few years ago(Jackmanii that I thought they were dead) and then in late June they finally started growing. Of course they were a smaller version of themselves that year but within a couple of years they returned to their glorious self. I am only guessing but perhaps every few years part of the root died but part didn't? Either that or maybe the part that's below ground and readily sends up shoots in spring died out? Anyway, I wish you luck and hopefully mine will make an appearance too. It's my favorite clematis and in part shade so when I planted it as a small plant it took a while to get established. Almost debating buying a new one as a back up, but then I may have to find root for two. Oh, I also have a little duckling clematis (better known as Piilu) that appears dead. As it was it's first winter and the second Piilu I am trying, for that one I assume it just wasn't hardy enough. Glen

Oh, Fern4, I feel for you! The other night I was laying in bed, not quite tired enough to sleep, when I had a tremendous flashback to a year ago, pre-kitchen reno, when I would lay in bed at night with my mind racing as I considered all my options. Racing so fast I could not slow it down. I so clearly remember laying in bed for what seemed like forever, imagining different cabinet/ counter/ flooring combinations. Natural maple cabs/ peacock green counters/ oak floors? Natural cherry cabs/green counters/maple floors? Dark cherry cabs/white granite counters/oak floors? Literally, every night this is what I thought about. Instead of sleeping. (Don't get me wrong -- I thought about it all day, too.) After many hours and many times of telling my contractor "Final answer" only to call him up the next morning saying, "Is it too late to change my mind?" I ended up with white cabs/ lab antique granite/ red oak floors. Love it all. But I think I would have loved any and all of the above options, too. Helou, so funny that you mention your existing kitchen works well -- I remember dropping a glass on my old laminate counter and thinking, if I get granite, this glass is history... and that vinyl floor (with three layers of vinyl underneath) sure was cushy and warmer underfoot than my hardwood... This is where I am at, DH seeÂs us remodeling kitchen in three or more years and I see us remodeling our kitchen in the next year or earlier. So, Right now I am more in the process of elimination as far as cabinet brands go. Many earlier brands have been eliminated due to size issues as in I want and need deeper and taller wall cabinets and prefer little to no fillers. Also, cost has been a big factor. I have a basic idea of layout but need help in changing the nook area and windows. Some appliances will be reused but we will replace refrigerator with the kichenaid 42" built-in French door paneled and replace the microwave with the adventium. I have the countertop narrowed down to three or four and know exactly what I want for the backsplash, still unsure of wall splash behind stove though. The kitchen sink has been narrowed down to two choices and cab hardware to three. I know what I want for lighting but havenÂt found exactly the right one, I will know it when I see it. Still tossing around the idea of wood range hood verses stainless. The doors of my dreams are simple $$$applied moulding but with most likely end up with nice raised panel for style of home. Husband thinks I spend way too much time thinking of and planning for the kitchen.

Thank you Lavender... Just loved your idea about the continue countertop in the DOL. I think it could make the oven cabinet look a little more hutch like. I think I could be far more creative with the cabinetry layout but I worked too much on this the last couple of days. need a break. i did work on the fridge elevation as well. I am going to post. would love your opinion and anyone else's if people aren't completely sick of my project! Two are with a window and two are without. Two are with the X cabinets, two are with regular cabinets. Either way I see the cabinet above the sink being shallower in depth than the others. Thanks for looking.

We need a to scale floorplan and more pics. The plan has to show windooes doorways where those lead every measurement clearly marked and in another drawing show the cabinets. and where they are . All this in jpeg and the measurements clearly marked . I do not see a window so IMO this will never be a bedroom but you say it was at one time so we realy need pics of all 4 walls.

Hi all, here are the rooms with dimensions. I also have my bedroom 1 which a standard bedroom. Bedroom 2 is the closest room. The drawings are not to a scale. If the closest room does not work, I may have to choose bedroom 1. Thanks for all the suggestions!!!

You'd have lots of storage, which would be great. If it were me, I would want the closets to the left of the door (C4?) to come out like @Sammie J suggests and would likely remove some of the shelves from the shoe storage area

-- I would def want a fabulous wallpaper to open up the room and would probably hang some charming curtains to soften/cover the closets on either side of the build-in cabinet - you said there is a window, which is good

FWIW - we had a TINY nursery for our 2nd son - just fit a crib, changing table/dresser and a comfy chair - we had soft lighting and I found it so cozy and relaxing

Thank you @la_la Girl for your suggestions. I have a doubt about will it be too crowded with all these storage for a nursery (even after taking down some shelves)
