MCM exterior lights would do a lot. They should be 1/3 of the front door's height. The chimney looks like it might need some work; re-pointing and cleaning might be in order. Eventually, I would want to rework the walk, but that can wait. What color is the mortar and is it the same on brick and stone? That might be the place to find your trim color or a lighter variation of it.

Have you decided on the type of/color of flooring yet? You definitely want some contrast between the walls and counters to give some dimension and not have the whites clash. I would get some flooring samples that you like as well as some paint samples like samplize, or even several small paper paint color samples taped together and use your gut. If you’rr still undecided about floor, you can choose paint first but be sure to use samples as well to see how the color looks in your light at all times of the day. We have repose gray SW with warm white cabinets and like it-agreeable gray may be a nice warmer alrernative. I also love eider white, which contrasts nicely with brighter whites without a yellow tone. Or you could add a blue or green to add some color. My recommendation would be to go to sherwin williams or ben moore and pick out colors that catch your eye, then order samplize swatches for your favorites of those. Leave those up for a while to see them in different lights and go from there. I basically had our whole house repainted in steps when we moved in four years ago and that helped me. Also, Sherwin Williams has free online 30 min color consulting virtual meetings-I used them before to get some specific color recommendations.

IMO the sofa is fine it is the chairs that are not right and look terrible for actual comfort . The rest looks like it was chosen for a hotel room. I need to see a to scale floor plan and you need to think of how you will use the space .IMO a den is a perfect spot for a TV since I hate TV in my LR but we have no idea of how you live , what style you like and I always try to not put a space together all at once and art IMO is chosen becuase you love it not because it "goes " with the room that is what usually makes spaces feel like hotel rooms.

What is your budget? If you can afford it an underground system is the cleanest and neatest way to do irrigation. It also puts all of the largest pipes quite deep which limits damage from normal gardening. I also watered by hand for...wow, 40 years! I couldn't imagine doing it now, and I'm very grateful for our underground system. We have a lot of drip as part of the system and it keeps me quite busy for 8 months of the year maintaining the drip infrastructure. Every time I add a plant I have to get water to that plant, which means adding an emitter or adjusting the spray pattern of a spray-head. It's not easy but way better than dragging hoses, and looking at hoses always laying around. We don't have any drip or soaker hoses, just a combination of spray heads and emitters, and it works well in both ornamental gardens and raised beds with veggies. Its all Rainbird and Rainbird-compatible hardware.
