Palms are very storm resistant. Once the worst is over straighten the tree and stake it or it will grow sideways.

The Queen Palm, like most palms has very little root structure so your tree should be OK.

The only issue is that a Queen Palm unlike many others is not a self-pruning palm. Many other palm trees drop their fronds once new fronds have grown in. Not so with the Queen. You have to literally cut off any dead fronds or seed sprays. That's why they are typically the least expensive palm to purchase. They will grow about 2 1/2 stories tall, last about 25 years and then die off. We no longer allow them in our community as they are a yearly expense to have trimmed.

That must be what I saw, when I was on a trip.

It was trimmed by the owners until it got too tall.

They tell me rats, hornets and other inhospitable creatures reside in the dead fronds.

I think that's a Washintonia Palm Trimming those can kill you.
