You're welcome. Re: the junction box.- That was for fun. You could terminate with an elbow that goes flush to the wall. If you are wall mounting tv's don't forget elbow- conduit- elbow from the tv to the electronics (blue ray/ video games whatnot) below. Subsequent to this photo being taken, we did add an outlet to the right of the junction box. Our cables will come out if the junction box and plug into the dvr. The dvr and monitor will be in a locked cabinet that will also enclose the junction box and the smart box (wifi stuff). On site review of the recordings will only be as needed so this set up works for us. If we are away and want to check something, we will be on a iPad etc. We also followed the internet pros conduit install and sealed around this conduit where it went through framing.

I've seen where folks will remove a section of their baseboard against the wall they want to run new wire in, and then cut a small rectangle in the drywall (near the floor and next to a stud) so that they can see if any wires are in the way. Then, if the baseboard is wide enough, it covers the hole nicely when you put it back up. Unfortunately, you wouldn't have this luxury when cutting a small hole up near the ceiling to check for clearance there, but then you can just patch it. That's one way I can think of to keep yourself from drilling blind without removing an entire section of drywall.

An 18 inch auger drill bit allows you to drill in the middle of a stud despite an angled entry from the rest of the drywall. A 3 inch strip of drywall is enough to run receptacles around a room. For vertical work you can cut about 6 inches below the wall ceiling joint, drill through the top plat, and then fish from the opening ion the ceiling. Worst can you open the ceiling 5 inches from the wall and work from there. Inside corners take more time to repair than flat work, so avoid damaging them.

Much of my early electrical experience was in adding wiring to existing houses as electrical power became available in my area. One of my "tools" is a 6' length of sash chain with several feet of 1/8" cord tied into one end of the chain. In use, the other end of the cord is tied to something so that all does not fall out of reach. Start the sash chain down and if it hangs on a narrow ledge, it will bunch up until it falls free of it's own weight. Sectional fiberglass rods are now available-- they would have been so useful 50-60 years ago. I once used a extendable pole pruner to move a cable through a very confined space with very limited access to that space. Made a 5/8" bit for drilling lengths over 8' with access height of less than 2' by using short lengths of 1/2" pipe that can be coupled together as needed for length. The bit end and driving end were made by welding and then machining on a lathe. Obviously the actual drilling depth was limited to the 18" length of the bit as the pipe and couplings would not pass through the drilled hole. "A strong imagination begetteth opportunity."
