3 weeks ago I went ahead to order 2 jasmine sambac arabian nights from TT in Florida. I got tiny less than 1ft tall plants. The plants look sick and leaves started turning yellow, when I checked th leaves they have these eggs in the back. I treated them with neem oil and all leaves fell off and I expected that anyway. Since new growth is shooting, I think they will be ok. I was so upset with the order and emailed them on this pest issue. They have not responded so far. I have ordered from them before way back in 2003, at that time their gallon size plants are 2-3ft healthy plants not these tiny plants with pests. Well I was mentally prepared on what size to expect at the time of order itself but did not expect bugs and leaves with eggs. Hi Kevin, Did not see your reply earlier, the jasmines are always indoors in a green house and are atleast 4-5 f tall. I cannot identify any mites or whiteflies other that the woodlice. They have 3 monthly feeding (slow release granules) but are suffering badly from God knows what....The leaves appear crumpled and are in a hurry to come out and are therefore close to each other.

And Artemisia x Powis castle - Ok, I know how everyone feels about oleander but I inherited a hedge of petite whites and right now they are beautiful day and night. One to add to your list. Maireana sedifolia or Pearl Bluebush. It's native to Australia and has the most interesting silver/blue foliage. The leaves are about 1/2 inch long and almost succulent-looking and are covered with very short hairs, making it look soft. I had two of these plants at my last house where they received full sun till about 4pm. The plant has a sprawling growth habit to about 4 feet wide and three feet tall. The oldest plant, which was three years in the ground, flowered the spring before I moved. It had tiny inconspicuous tan flowers. Now that I'm in another home, I've planted one on a western exposure about four feet from a block wall.

Oh dear, I posted something like this about 3 or 4 months ago. I can now answer as a more experienced jasmine grower. The plant looks good, but if you've had it for a couple of years, its needs are clearly not being met. To quote robert (who will probably chime in), Jasmine sambac is a BEAST, and it should be at least two foot tall and as broad in two years (or more). Things required: Plenty of sunlight (at least 3 or 4 hours direct sun per day), frequent feedings, water when dry, warm temperatures (60 to 90F) Stand back...plant growth seems to me to be, flush of new growth terminated with flowers, rest about a month, then flush of new growth from most every node of the last flush, etc. Even back nodes near the soil line are sprouting for me....it's gonna be bushy in there. I accquired a Maid of Orleans JS in October as a rooted cutting from Logee's greenhouse, and it's bigger than yours in all dimensions, now. That's an indications of what growth is can be like...and should. Given that, yes, you can prune whenever you wish if the plant has enough reserves to deal with it. Yours might not...since it doesn't grow. And you should be able to make it much bushier. Though, from mine, it seems it'll take care of the bushiness itself, without pruning, though pruning may be required to keep it in check and able to fit back into the house/windowsill next year. It's wonderful to smell it as I do the dishes (kitchen window...south facing).
