How to hang artwork on mirrored wall??
Comments (16)All very good and thoughtful suggestions. I thank each of you. Mustangs--I think you hit upon it. I'll look into that as my best solution. Just don't want to permanently deface the 15' long mirrored wall, which I never would've installed, but which is too awesome to remove. The mirrors have beveled strips top and bottom, so only the ceiling is available and it's 1/2" additional thickness on the the mirror. You'd really see hooks and cables reflected behind the pictures. P. P....See MoreHanging art in 2 story foyer - help, please!
Comments (13)I think you have to be careful with objects such as quilts, rugs, iron grills, etc. They can sometimes come off as "craftsy" and the whole aura they give off does not fit in all homes and decors. Since it is your foyer and is the first impression guests receive of your home, if money allows, I would spring for one large painting/art/photograph on that wall. Quite large. I know at the local art festival here this summer there were some large pieces done by local artists for 200-300. Certainly not cheap, and I am unemployed so not in my budget LOL, but certainly not expensive, either. You'd definitely want something eye catching and unique there. But not something dis-jarring and incongruous with your style throughout the rest of your house. One of the biggest mistakes I see in homes such as yours with a large, dramatic, vaulted foyer is undramatic, small art. If the space is large and dramatic, I think it usually calls for large and dramatic art. Dramatic in size and impact, I mean, not in the sense of a dramatic scene from the theatre or something LOL. Just my opinion....See MoreChoosing correct size/centering art work help please
Comments (4)This is a very rough and quick attempt to illustrate what I think both the previous comments are aiming that -- not the perfect solution, but the point is that the stuff on the dresser is badly arranged. You need two centres of interest, one clustering around the lamp (which shouldn't be so close to the edge) and one on the other side of the dresser. Hang the art between them. In this example, below, we are missing the taller item you need on the right to balance the lamp....See MoreHELP!!! Art work placement plus Entryway console
Comments (33)I have no help to add about the art but I do love the colorful rug @celery showed I the last post. Something dramatic with that gorgeous green in it will tie the room together. Your dining table is stunning! And the green chairs are a happy surprise ( most dining rooms have all chairs the same)....See Morechispa
