Ideas for around fireplace

I have bamboo wood flooring throughout my house. Trim and 1/4 round around all of the walls. Wanting to put something around the edges of the brick fireplace to cover the end pieces of the wood to make it look more seamless. (We installed the wood to be as flush as possible to the fireplace) Have seen photos of full trim pieces around it and didn’t like the bulkiness look. Could I do just 1/4 round? Decorative stone? Any other ideas?

I have to disagree. I dont think this material is the best choice, because you have relatively little space left and right of the firebox. I think it may look odd. I also think that the funny angle at the top of the wall will look odd when stone draws your eye to it. To me, a material like this needs a pretty good expanse and very simple lines to look right, IMHO. Sorry if im a wet blanket!

It can look fabulous. Or tacky. The difference is in the mix of materials and quality of installation. My suggestion is to get a blend of two colors and cuts (notice how in the brochures, most of the best looking pictures are a blend of 70/30%?) and also to train your eye to the good installations and bad ones first, and insist on seeing your proposed contractor's work up close and in person before selecting someone. This is NOT the place to skimp.

This is the fireplace from a distance. The floor is travertine. The other picture is the view from when you walk in the door of the back of the fireplace.
