2023 pepper list

These are all sweet peppers. We will buy a jalapeno and maybe a cayanne. I don't do hot, and my hot pepper seeds have not done well for me.

Ros de Mallorca (Nancy gave me one of these to grow and we loved it, but saved seeds were lost.)

Sweet Pimento (new)

Super Shepherd (new)

Like tomatoes I don't have room for all of these either. Sigh.

oh, I forgot I bought Czech Black seeds because there is Czech blood in me. It is hot, like jalapeno, if it is like the other one i had.

Amy, that is quite a list. I have a lot of space, and I cant plant that many peppers.

I'm getting rid of all my old seeds so I'll be starting a lot more than I plan to grow. Some of these seeds are from 2015 so I expect poor germination. Which means they'll all sprout, right?

You can start them anytime you want,it is late in the season so growing full term is unlikely unless your in south Florida. You will have to keep them inside under lights all winter. Check your regions seasonal temp range and allow about 2 months lead time before moving outside. Be careful of "advise",some people choose crazy stupid expensive methods and resources as "the doctrine" The elitist speak in terms and references not of common man,funny bunch they are LOL! Just take your time and research basic garden growing and youll be fine. Best Of Luck!!

Pretty sure on these. I may buy a jalapeño plant because I don't have seeds, and I don't eat them. Ron and daughter like them. I have seeds for: Ashe County Pimento Figitelli Sicilia Red Cheese Pepper Red Tennessee Cheese Pepper Spanish Padron Sweet Pimento I think I saved seeds for the one Nancy is growing for me, but I haven't looked yet and almost certain I didn't put the name on the seeds. This should be Ros de Mallorca. BTW cheese peppers look like pimento. I actually grew the Red cheese first. I would like to grow Czechoslovakian black, which I used to grow, but all I can find is Hungarian black. Pretty sure it's the same pepper. I think I ordered a cherry pepper. I thought Ron would like.

I got some I already have: Florentina is new- Going in the new Red & Cream garden area. Love Song- is a replacement for one that hated me. I blame Diane for making me want another one with all her luscious lavender & purple rose photos lol. Peach Swirl..I have several of these because I love them and so do the treefrogs! I dont know why they are so obsessed with striped roses but they are! EarthAngel - because I used the two that I had over by the side of the barn and I need another one for the new bed, that I am just starting out front. She is one of the few globular shaped roses that I have, besides jude lol. I really need more!

Jen, by getting rid of them, do you mean planting them all?

And of course they'll all sprout! Then you'll have fun figuring out what to do with them all.

My list is very simple. I love peppers, so it's hard to keep it simple, but that is the plan and I'm sticking to it.

Peppers, like kale, are mostly just for fun. This year's are:

Sweet: Ros de Mallorca, Sweet Pickle Pepper (ornamental, to boot! I grew it last year and loved it), Super Shepherd, Sweet Apple Kambe.

Hot: Sugar Rush Peach, Jalapeno, 7 pot Brain Strain (gotta try, with a name like that), and Numex Twilight.
