Should be a small pot. Keep in a bright location. As for moisture, keep barely damp. It will be slow. When did you start with it?

I started it a couple weeks ago, Socks. Put it in a small pot of damp soil and kept it damp. Started to wither and I thought, "Oh no, here's another failed propagation." Well, when I went to toss the withered leaf, I saw that it had meanwhile formed several very alive-looking roots! I moved it and a couple of other succulent bits I found on the floor of big box stores into a zip lock sandwich bag with a piece of crumpled damp paper towel. The withered CC has plumped out again. Hope to see this little narrow-leafed succulent in there root out as well. Yesterday I added 3/4 of a Hoya carnosa leaf I found on the floor of a big box store. I always wanted one, and the price was right!

No water initially or it will rot. Honestly you can leave it sitting on a shelf until you see a few roots come out, then plant in barely most soil.

I see about three 1/4" roots coming from the bottom of the CC. None yet from the narrow-leafed unknown succulent. One day is a bit soon to expect roots from the hoya. I open the ziplock bag and let a little air exchange to occur before blowing more air into it and sealing it again. How many roots and how large should they be before I can plant the CC?

Once the end is callused, better yet with roots starting, you can place the rooted end shallowly into suitable media for succulents. Just enough moisture so it is not completely dry.

The roots will continue to elongate down into the media. Water as needed.
