All my crape myrtles, most of the growth on my butterfly bushes and a bunch of encore azaleas I couldn't cover got zapped over night but the crapes definitely look the worse. I have a row of peegee hydrangeas and weigelias that I think got some protection from a building so only the highest tips look wilted. A few of the things in the nursery bed got zapped (mostly little BB bushes) because the wind blew a portion of one tarp back (gotta get out there and fix that before nightfall). I tented the unrooted cuttings bed with tarps and blankets and ran 3 desk lamps with 100 watt bulbs and a heating pad out there and propped them up so the bulbs and pad rested above the tops of the cuttings. I checked it at 3 a.m. this morning and it was nice and toasty in there so I'm hoping that will be good tonight as well. Just hope I don't find some critter in there in the morning enjoying the heat. I also had new (light colored) granite installed in mid December. About three weeks after the install, we began to notice the green. After much time and effort researching the problem we found out we have green bloom. Our green bloom is around where the fabricator cut out the sink, faucet and soap dispenser. We have had both the stone distributor and the fabricator out to see the problem. Stone distributor confirms it is not a stone problem (no minerals in our stone which would cause green discoloration)! Fabricator insists he didn't do anything to the stone during fabrication that would cause the green! He assured us he does not use the products that cause the green bloom?????? We contacted the Granite and Marble Institute and they confirmed for us that our problem was caused by products used during fabrication. After all the discussions and denials we have decided to try to resolve the problem ourselves using a (recommended) product called Mangia Macchia. The last thing we want is to replace our granite (spending more $$$$ or suing someone and then dealing with the mess of replacement and the problem of finding granite we like again). As we move forward trying to remove the green bloom, it is our understanding that the product needs to be applied multiple times before you see results. We began the first treatment yesterday. We took before and after pictures so we can document the results of what the product does to the green bloom and our sealed granite! If Mangia Macchia does not work we have a bigger problem since our fabricator refuses to admit they are at fault! I will keep you posted as to our progress resolving our horrible green bloom problem. Hopefully, this posting will help others who have experience the same problem and have been told by their fabricator and distributor they never heard of or have seen this situation before!!!!!

Believe it or not, four years later the PEM31 is still the only microwave of this size around. Here is my situation, small'ish kitchen with no built in microwave currently. To maximize counter space I am considering taking down my old vent hood over my stove and mounting this microwave in it's place. I can't place a normal OTR microwave over my stove because the cabinet above the stove is too low and would place the bottom of the microwave too close to the cooktop. I really only have the 12 inch height to work with. Mounting this microwave under any other existing cabinets isn't really workable because my cabinets are mounted 16 inches above the counters, leaving only 4 inches from bottom of microwave to counter which is unusable. So, has anyone mounted this microwave above the stove or placed it on a shelf above the stove? If so, can you please post pictures.I am not that concerned about losing the vent hood as I rarely use it anyway. Thanks!

What type of doors do you have? Could buy some cover panels that match your doors and use that to make your trim? We used a 40" Ikea wall cabinet with 27" doors so we could have an open shelf on the bottom for cookbooks. We use some of the light trim pieces and cover panel to trim out the shelf. It is not perfect, and you notice it is hacked if you look at closely, but it looks much better than leaving it unfinished.
