First spring with Zoysia and battling the dead leaves, I think.
Comments (40)So I have a problem. I re-sodded my yard almost 2 years ago with empire zoysia. I also added two sprinkler heads in the middle of the yard as I thought it was not getting enough water, this was one of the reasons I believe led to the destruction of the last sod and why I had to replace my sod in a two year old home. However I am no irrigation professional and I did not bother to lay cans out to measure how the water dispersed throughout my yard. From my perspective it looks as if the middle of the yard is still not receiving enough H20? I really don't know? At the beginning of the growing season (mid february) I cut my grass to about 2 inches to remove thatch build up! I have been cutting my yard during the growing season at 3 inches. I also fertilized my yard February 22, 2012 with a slow release nitrogen formula (lesco 16-4-8) at a rate of approximately 1.5-2 lbs per 1000 sq. feet. My yard looks great besides the middle section. Also my sprinkler zone in the front yard is a follows; basically the zone is a square. To the street the length =20 feet and from my driveway to the neighbors yard the width = 50 feet. I have 4 inch pop up heads (hunter). 4 each on the width side and 2 each on the length sides and the two i put in the center of the yard! I have not don't a soil sample test yet as I think the problem is with the watering. I just bought a sprinkler last week and placed it in the middle of the yard! I will take some pics tomorrow, any advice would be greatly appreciated!...See MoreOh my! I think they are dead! Please help!
Comments (1)The first nesting this year the female laid 5 eggs, 3 hatched the same day, the other 2 eggs sometime later. Needless to say the last 2 babies were behind the other 3. The first 3 fledged on time and the last 2 fledged 2 and 3 days after the first 3. I thought something was wrong too, as I didn't see the parents at the box, but when I wasn't looking, they had been feeding the last 2 babies. All 5 fledged just fine. I would keep checking on the babies in the box, If they are still alive, the parents have not forgotten them, and hopefully the were just behind in hatching as mine were and they will fledge later. Good luck!! Karen...See MoreA dead 'mouse'
Comments (7)The MicroSoft ball mice that I've owned lasted until the mechanical parts wore out. That would be the ball roller bearings. Of course, it got cleaned when necessary. It would pick up fibers and hair and make a mess. All the mechanical problems went away when I switched to an optical, corded mouse. Again, the MicroSoft version. Fits my hand really well and cuts fatigue. These are long lasting. Wear is confined to the scroll wheel and the place where my finger contacts the left 'button'. I have worn through the finish on the left button, and the mouse is still plugging along just fine. This is my second optical mouse. My first optical got heavy use and I finally wore out the switch, but it took several years to do that....See MoreI think my computer is dead
Comments (25)Sounds like you've just about declared it dead :) If it is, it is, but I just wanted to try to narrow it down, and I didn't want to throw money around willy-nilly in the hopes of figuring out what the problem is. Your search took me to Ebay Canada. I took the liberty of changing the .ca to .com to get Ebay US, but with the same search. Why pay extra shipping if I don't have to? Like I said, I'm a novice at this, so I may not be entirely sure what I'm looking at, but from what I've noticed, I only clicked on the ones that had 3 memory slots (I have three sticks, so might as well use them), and from what I could tell, all the ones I looked at were listed as used, and total with shipping they still came darned close to $90. I did see this one below which ends in the morning (hopefully nobody here will sabotage me and bid against me!) and comes with a CPU which is slower than mine. I don't know the difference between a K8N-E and a K8N4-E. At least in the one I showed you earlier this morning, the MB was used, but the CPU that came with it was an UPGRADE to the one I have now. In fact, it's the fastest chip that can go in that board. The chip by itself (ATHLON 3400 CPU, 754 socket) is selling for $25US anyway on Ebay. I just thought overall, the whole repair would be cheaper, since I can replace my CPU for under $10, but if the going price of these motherboards means I'm going to wind up paying (total with shipping) $80-$90 anyway for a used board with no CPU, I just as well get the one with the 3400 in case my CPU is fried as well, correct? Thank you again, and forgive me if I'm being presumptuous. I just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly. If I'm wrong in any way, feel free to slap my wrist. Here is a link that might be useful: K8N4-E on ebay...See Morededtired
