My guess is , no one has service experience with this, and I'd escalate your case with JennAir. You want to talk with a senior technical , service person or engineer. Chances are no appliance tech has seen this problem and they are likely to call in for guidance anyway. Better you find out now for free that a new display/controller is 700 bucks + labor instead of paying $95+ for a service visit to tell you the same thing. Perhaps JA will warranty the whole deal - but I wouldn't hold my breath. They've never been overly service oriented and now they have other masters that they are beholden to. This is more complex than 99.9% of fridge repair men can handle. It's more in the realm of the IT boffin or Home Integrator/ Stereo guy and even they will be put off that there is a refrigeration compressor attached to the "computer".

I just used little rubber pads that you use on the bottom of chairs and such. They are those round things that you put down to keep things from sliding. They are about 1/2 inch in diameter. The inside of my cabinet is white as are the pads. I just stuck it to the edge of the plate and they haven't moved at all. The two plates I have standing up are actually platters, so they are bigger and heavier than the average plate. I thought about the molding, but I was afraid of putting it in and messing up the cabinet. I waited two years for that thing to go on sale. I wasn't going to add anything to it that I could mess up. :) Hope that helps!

Unit is wood/laminate Is most of the exterior laminate? What kind of shape is it in? What does it look like after a good washing/cleaning? You can paint laminate/melamine but it doesn't always turn out great. If the unit isn't in great shape, I'd either leave it as is for a while, or just pull it out and replace them. I'd also replace the blinds with something cordless, but I'm sure that's already on your list : )

Hmm, maybe I could stack them with something between them, like a thin slab of...marble? Wood? I guess I’ll need to play with them a bit and see. They‘re definitely going in the cabinet. I don’t have enough extra wall space to devote a display cabinet nor do I want to give them that much importance! I thought about hooks too like under, at the back of, the shelves in the cabinet but I hate the idea of putting hooks in brand new cabinetry.
